Default What can I expect from SH4?

There seem to be a load of positive posts, but more than a few negative ones too

I am expecting my delivery of SH4 tomorrow or Monday. Any chance you could let me know what to look out for? Anything that I am going to see and enjoy and anything I am going to think, what the hell!

I am going to be running on a minimum graphics card, ati radeon 9600 but with 1.5Gb of ram, all the other specs are fine. No aa concerns (so no need to add that:p )

Has the patch that is out fixed many of the bugs? Should I install the patch straight away or try it "out the box" first?

btw, I am one of those non-technical "eye candy" sailors who needs help and has never manually targeted and would never dream of 100% realism I only became involved with SH3, loved the genre and really looking forward to SH4

Well I think what has happened is that the SH4 engine is based on SH3 ver 1.0, as most of the early problems are back again. The unfortunate thing is that only the old devs knew how to apply the 1.4b patch, so it's a whole new game of re-inventing the wheel by the new devs. Most frustrating!

Bloody Hell! That almost negates the advantages of using the same engine twice!

I'm just curious.. are you guessing? Are you serious? I mean, how could the SHIV Dev Team not have an archive of the source already patched to 1.4b available to them. And why in the heck would they not use it? Well hmm, I guess that is the question, huh. :hmm:
