How to fix illegal immigration into the US...And solve the gas crisis

Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use. The best way to stop using so much gas is to deport 11million illegal immigrants! That would be 11 million less people using our gas. The price of gas would come down. Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the borders . When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq . Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military. Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it. After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country. He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot. This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves. If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo. Problem solved.

I suppose it is better than Hitler who fixed illegal immigration into Germany....but used more gas to do so.

In my mind, any man willing to stand up and fight for our country should be allowed to enter (as long as they don't have a hidden agenda). If they don't want to fight for the country and its values, why would you want them in the first place?

you know, you don't have to pick up a gun and a hand grenade in order to fight for your country. Not all warriors wear fatigues.

Also the US could try making thier cars more economical instead of the usual gas guzzlers. I think that would do a lot more for fuel problems than kicking out illegal immigrants. I fail to see how kicking out 11 million illegal immigrants will solve the gas problems. Sounds to me like an excuse to drop the hammer on the illegal immigrants. Pity Tony Blair wouldn't do the same for us!

(whispering sweet as candy through a bush of flowers): Do you know how many "aliens" are fighting in the US armed forces to earn themselves US state citizenship by that? Hint: a US journalist some time ago on German TV described the situation in the non-officer ranks as "America's mercenary army".... It's a mean way to get citizenship in the US. And the US makes maximum use of this bad habit. Vietnam had more aliens in the US army then WWII. Iraq has more aliens in the US army than Vietnam. Compare: WWII had more WASP-Americans in the army than Vietnam. Vietnam had more WASP-Americans in the army than Iraq.

It's one idea, with the illegal aliens. Rather than shipping them off to Iraq to die for Republican corporatism and oil companies, I'd rather put them to work for the ACE (Army Corps of Engineers). There are so many projects that need work if our bloody Congress would just fund them (instead of shipping $10 billion off to their own state pork projects).

California needs a string of nuclear desalination plants so they'd stop sucking water from the Colorado. All the Bible Belt states need levees and wetlands worked on along the Mississippi. We need to expand our railways instead of using semi-trucks. There is plenty of cleanup to do in Florida and Mississippi, as well as Louisiana, from the past 4 hurricanes that have come through there. The Mississippi delta needs dredging and water-breaks installed at various points. Plenty of areas with ground-water arsenic deposits and other contaminants that need to be evaulated and a solution (to clean drinking water) found.

Roosevelt called it the "CCC". We need another CCC, and I'd like to make it a part of border security. Secure the borders, give the illegals 6 months to register (fingerprints, photos, retinal and iris scans, DNA samples, matching against criminal database), and have them work for the CCC and spanish language classes as visiting native speakers (especially in our high-schools, but colleges, too).
