Weird Glitch...possible edit?
So, I had successfully snuck into Loch Ewe in October of 1939. What did I find there? An Illustrious Carrier, the Hood, and the HMS Rodney and Nelson. Overjoyed at my find, I decided to save the game, in case my game crashed. Normal routine upon entering a harbor full of prizes.
However, the real world beckoned, and I had to save and exit the game. Upon my return hours later, I boot up the save and start to line up my shot, when I notice something funny. ALL MY TORPS ARE GONE! Not a single torp remained, and I had a full load. So here I am, sitting within 500m of over 100k tons worth of warships...and my torpedoes have disappeared from my save! Am I SOL? Is there any way to edit a save file to give me my torps back? Was this a consequence of installing SH3Commander recently? |

I'd rather think it was a consequence of saving and loading in the harbour, especially submerged. I'm not aware of any ways to edit a save file to this effect. You could try to reload the game, if this is a glitch maybe it won't happen twice.

Im not sure I havent edited a career save but if I was going to try I would
do this. C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\SH3\data\cfg\Careers\GameName there should be three folders a career cfg a crew career cfg and another called patrols open career config examine details to make sure it matches your game save and then see if putting in your torpedo types will recover the issue. what torpedos your using you have not said however here is the listings from basic cfg each torp has an Id # starting at zero and ending at ten it is the id# that you must enter into the torpedo tubes and racks. [TORPEDO_TYPE0];T I (G7a) Idx=0 Year=1939 Month=1 Renown=0 [TORPEDO_TYPE1];T I FaT I (G7a) Idx=1 Year=1942 Month=10 PrototypeYear=1941 PrototypeMonth=5 Renown=100 [TORPEDO_TYPE2];T II (G7e) Idx=2 Year=1939 Month=1 Renown=0 [TORPEDO_TYPE3];T III (G7e) Idx=3 Year=1942 Month=6 PrototypeYear=1941 PrototypeMonth=5 Renown=0 [TORPEDO_TYPE4];T III FaT II (G7e) Idx=4 Year=1943 Month=3 PrototypeYear=1942 PrototypeMonth=9 Renown=250 [TORPEDO_TYPE5];T IV (G7es) - Falke Idx=5 Year=1943 Month=7 PrototypeYear=1942 PrototypeMonth=11 Renown=500 [TORPEDO_TYPE6];T V (G7es) – Zaunkönig I Idx=6 Year=1943 Month=10 PrototypeYear=1943 PrototypeMonth=1 Renown=800 [TORPEDO_TYPE7];T I LuT I (G7a) Idx=7 Year=1944 Month=3 PrototypeYear=1944 PrototypeMonth=3 Renown=350 [TORPEDO_TYPE8];T III LuT II (G7e) Idx=8 Year=1944 Month=9 PrototypeYear=1944 PrototypeMonth=9 Renown=450 [TORPEDO_TYPE9];T XI (G7es) – Zaunkönig II Idx=9 Year=1944 Month=7 PrototypeYear=1943 PrototypeMonth=11 Renown=1000 [TORPEDO_TYPE10]; T VII - Steinbarsch Walter (G7ut) Idx=10 Year=1944 Month=5 PrototypeYear=1943 PrototypMonth=12 Renown=500 hope it helps MM |

It was October of 1939, so I had taken 5 electric eels and the rest were steam, so G7a and G7e.

TriskettheKid; bummer about the incident, strange things take place with some saves. Next time remember; pause the game, leave a note on the monitor "..anybody touches this while I'm gone, dies".

It's alright, I'll just reload and try again, I guess. Better now since I know where they'll be and when.
I mean, I was nearing Loch Ewe around 2am on October 23rd, 1939, and ran into this task force, but it was foggy and raining, so I couldn't get close enough to make a positive ID. When I finally got past the pathetic patrol ships (just a skeleton patrol of 2 Armed Trawlers and an Elco), I was in the harbor. Much to my surprise, at 10am, the rain ended, the harbor was calm, and there was a light fog that soon lifted. There were 4 juicy targets sitting there. But now that I know where they're going to be, it's time to have some fun. 100k of Her Majesty's finest, getting sent to the bottom! |

Even though it's a glitch that I'm working around, I still feel like I'm somehow "cheating" by knowing where these ships will be and when, though.

Bwahahahahah!
Gunther Prien can shove it! HMS Hood, HMS Illustrious, HMS Rodney and HMS Nelson all sunk! And now the realization hits that it's only late October of 1939...... |
