Default Why does the crew look so tiny?

I've been on the Pampaito before, and I don't remember the sub being that big compared to the average human.

I was looking at the pics at Marinesims, and the crew, when they are on the conning tower, look like they need to be about 1.5x-2x larger. lol

Is this just my eyes playing a trick on me when I see the screenshots?

If they wanna fit thru that doorway in the side of the conning tower they can't afford to be much taller.

The first pic looks like a later Balao style Conning tower, not a Gato tower, as depicted in the game image. Also the scale seems about the same; if you take the aft flak gunner and place him in front of the forward flak position he appears on scale with the sailors in the photograph.

The refit modifications are not all universal, as in looking through photos i've seen various versions of conning tower modifications; dependind on the timeframe in which they were performed.

Not to mention people were alot smaller in those days.

SH4 depicts more than one Conning Tower Refit as well; this image better fits the one in your photo (Balao style) where the upper section is cutdown more, as evidenced by the exposure of the Periscopes.

Well, the Conning tower isn't exactly small; roughly 40 to 50" in length, and people were quite abit shorter by todays standards.

The difference between the 1940's and the 1950's was very miniscule, and from the 1950's on, there's hardly been any change as well. At least not a change that is blatantly noticable.

We aren't talking about the difference between the 18th century and today. LOL

Maybe it is just an optical illusion. I doubt the Dev. team would miss that, but who knows.
