isnt it the faimous u-505?
these bullet holes are pretty simular

You can see U-505 today. She is on display at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry.

Looking at this picture I wonder if it still has those bullet holes, or if the battle damage was repaired before it went on display?

The commander of U505 commited suicide during a heavy depth charge attack?

That's awfull, just imagine what that must have done to the crew. After reading it's history I don't think it was a very lucky boat at all.
