Default When convoys were attacked did they shoot up tons of flares?

I guess this would bring are computers to a grinding halt.

Yes british and commonwealth convoys had many flares of different
sorts

most notably I suppose for the merchies would be snowflake
a rocket flare the indicated they had been torpedo'd
this is a fairly big ommision to the ambience and feel
of SH3.

Not only did they shoot up flares, they shot them, and responded to sub attacks in predetermined patterns. Kind of like how an american football quaterback calls out the plays.

I like the star shells. They let me see the position of merchants/warships before I dive. They also let me see just how ugly my watchcrew really is
