Default Archaeologists call 'Lost Tomb of Jesus' a publicity stunt

What we already know, but here is the scoop:

http://www.dailymail.com/story/News/...ublicity-stunt

Anyway, if you want to watch the fall of this guys career, it will air this Sunday on Discovery. The fact that Discovery would run this as fact knowing full well it is not, makes me start to question other programming that they run..??

Discovery has been going down hill since they removed 'Wings' from their regular line-up. They have been taken over by cute animals and dirty jobs.

I have never respected the Discovery Channel or, for that matter, the History Channel. They seem, to me, to be PBS with twice the flashy graphics and half the content.

You mean, of course, when PBS isn't asking for money.

Right, as opposed to the others, that just pry open your wallet and take what they like.

If you are speaking of cable, then PBS is just piling on.

Back to the topic,

I agree it's a publicity stunt. Ever scince the Da vinci code came out, everyone who want's some publicity has been trying todo the same. Before the da vinci code, people would try the same thing but now there using Mass media to help them.

Would someone stuff Dan Brown and James Cameron into a couple of thoese coffins and bury them. Them at least future nuts would have some bodies to work with!

Piling on? No, the cable on which cable TV is broadcast does not reach my home. I use good old UHF/VHF antenna reception. PBS is free for me, but I do donate $100 per year for the fact that I do enjoy the programming, which, before you start lecturing me, is less than what I donate to SubSim annually. They happen to be two things that I believe in, and as such, I try to compensate for the fact that they are not cost-free in their expenditures.

Of course, you could enjoy PBS for free, and never pay a cent.

To return to the point, this is a publicity stunt, plain and simple. You have evidence that cannot be verified. Who exactly has Jesus' DNA on file for comparison?

Your $100 donation is more than I pay for cable in a given year too! Almost more I guess - I still complain about my $9.95 mo bill for basic.

Wow. When I used to live in the People's Republic of Philadelphia during my undergrad years, I used to pay $24.99 a month for cable [basic].

Okay, back to topic again. This is a good topic, and I have not merged it with the other Jesus thread because I hope it stays on the subject, as opposed to the thread below, which has degenerated into a friutless discussion about pronouns in ancient Hebrew.

Okay, so.....

James Cameron is a dolt and Hollywierd is anti-Christian.

or

James Cameron is a genius and the Christian community is stoopid.

I'd be curious to know how long Mr. Cameron shopped this around before he found a buyer.

When it came to Discovery, probably not long considering the quality of the programming as of late. I think they have some Anti-Christians on the board. Been seeing many anti christian documentaries lately. To look at them from a non-biased perspective is the best way - I watch them, and take them with a grain of salt since its based on speculation as one possible explanation.

Anyway, all their programming is not bad. I like Future Weapons a lot for example. I have 13 episodes of that on my media server. I wish Wings would make a comeback.
