My first big patrol/convoy quest.

I started my fifth patrol and boy a good one three C-3's, Sheffield, and eight other victims. Total was 52000 tons. But the bad thing was west of Scapa I ran into two convoys one behind the other, reported them and shadowed for 24 hours, but no one came to the attack.
I couldn't hit at them as I was down some 20 mm, and 27 88 rounds.

When attacking a convoy will other Uboats come into to join the attack?

I don't think that's possible, but air force sometimes turns up. Although i don't know for sure if it's corelated with reporting a contact.

It is but as I understand it you have to be fairly close to German territory. I've seen the Luftwaffe once after I called in a report, they couldn't hit a barn door at ten paces.

I've had the Luftwaffe respond before and they are very accurate when they decide to finish off the ship I've already crippled and am just waiting to sink. This means no credit for the sinking

Concur with mortlock, particularly in the med.... those bastards oughta be sniping on the eastern front not flying a frigging plane, they just dont miss!

Well thats fine then, we get airsupport.

What a rip off I just went through the Norway invasion and all I got was a single cargo ship. I then went north looking for some fun even went and tried to shoot up a town at night but the deck gun would load, no ships,,, to bad.
But I did waste some AA ammo on a building.

Then I started patrol six and France is already taken, I missed to Blitz to the west at least now we french bases to stop at if need be.

As far as I know, u have to report the contact for air support to come in. And even then they dont always come.

Thats to bad. All the shadowing was for not.
Then to hope that my 7 hours of evasion were worth it. To bad, I was really hoping that subs would take up the attack while the escorts were busy with me. The thing that me dought it was the lack of explosions topside.
Oh well,time to start patrol six.
