I'm sue that is the inspiration for the company name, so you may not be that far off! Good old BFG always could get you out of a tight spot - especially one with a really big nasty that is making your life hell (no pun inteded - well maybe a little!)

By the way, BFG is known for making faster boards than their competitors. I've owned one of their products before and it was a good board!

They overlock the stock firmware and throw pretty good heatsinks and thermal-paste on everything. They also have lifetime warranties on their cards. If you're watercooling a BFG card in an attempt to overclock it, you can burn out the VRM, in which case you just slap the original heatsink back on it and ship it off to BFG for a refurb.

I haven't looked at video cards lately, so I can't say how the 7800GS faires. I can tell you that, for AGP, that probably about as good as it's going to get. I don't think any of the ATI AGP cards support pixel shader 3.0. However, I can tell you that you will not want to go to extreme lengths to overclock it. Don't even bother getting a waterblock for it unless the fan is just too loud. Buy an el-cheapo waterblock, or quieter heatsink, and just call it good. You can cool that core down to 10C under load, and you're still going to get lockups because the VRM's go out of tolerance.
