How do I turn it back on? I miss the dramatic background music when I'm in combat. I like the "feeling" of watching a movie.

Fill your gramaphone with music. That is what I did. I have the sound track to Gladiator playing. Crank up the Might of Rome and see if you do not get excited sinking vessels

Ok, but what I've noticed is most of the files end in ogg. What the heck is that, and how do I convert mp3s to that format?

One other thing, maybe I didn't make myself clear, I want to turn the ORIGINAL SH3 background music back on. How do I do this?

By the way, the DD do not hear you music playing
There goes my idea of Wagner on full blast, steaming head on to a DD with a salvo lined up ![]() I have the sound track to Gladiator playing It sounds sort of navy-ish, because of the brass I guess. Need some crimson tide and hunt for the red october ![]() |

Hi,
re:Background Music .. I think you would find Ducimus's Mod to your liking, it is in the Mod Workshop under the following title, "REL - My Great big Tweak Pack for GWX. - Final version." I recommend you check it out. re:The enemy hearing the Gramaphone blaring .. some 'Modders' are looking into the possibility of altering things so that the enemy can pick up the Gramaphone. After all, the sound would have been detected in a realistic environment. re:Music Mods .. there are some Gramaphone packs at Terrapins UBRS Site that you can download that will fill your Gramaphone with music in keeping with that period. However, if you do this, I suggest you convert the file(s) to OGG. if you are using GWX. |

The background music is set in the following file: data/sound/music/music.cfg open it using notepad, in GWX it reads: ;GW MINIMAL MUSIC MIXER [GENERAL] CertainityTime=1 MinDuration=20 FadeTime=2 [STATES] States=8 State1=BEGIN State2=NORMAL State3=BATTLE State4=TENSION State5=HIGH TENSION State6=VICTORY State7=DEFEAT State8=JOY [BEGIN] Tracks=1 Track1=Empty.ogg ;Track1=Intro_1_Master.ogg ;Track2=Intro_2_Master.ogg ;Track3=Intro_3_Master.ogg [NORMAL] Tracks=1 Track1=Empty.ogg ;Track1=Stalker_1_Mix.ogg ;Track2=Stalker_2_Mix.ogg ;Track3=Stalker_3_Mix.ogg ;Track4=Stalker_4_Mix.ogg ;Track5=Stalker_5_Mix.ogg [BATTLE] Tracks=1 Track1=Empty.ogg ;Track1=Battle_1_Mix.ogg ;Track2=Battle_2_Mix.ogg ;Track3=Battle_3_Mix.ogg ;Track4=Battle_4_Mix.ogg ;Track5=Battle_5_Mix.ogg ;Track6=Battle_6_Mix.ogg [TENSION] Tracks=1 Track1=Empty.ogg ;Track1=Tension_1_Mix.ogg ;Track2=Tension_2_Mix.ogg ;Track3=Tension_3_Mix.ogg ;Track4=Tension_4_Mix.ogg ;Track5=Tension_5_Master.ogg [HIGH TENSION] Tracks=1 Track1=Empty.ogg ;Track1=High_Tension_1_Master.ogg ;Track2=High_Tension_2_Master.ogg ;Track3=High_Tension_3_Master.ogg ;Track4=High_Tension_4_Master.ogg ;Track5=High_Tension_5_Master.ogg [VICTORY] Tracks=3 Track1=Happy_Times_1.ogg Track2=Happy_Times_2.ogg Track3=Happy_Times_3.ogg [DEFEAT] Tracks=2 Track1=Going_Down.ogg Track2=Going_Down_2_Master LOOP.ogg [JOY] Tracks=1 Track1=Happy_Times_4.ogg ;Track1=empty.ogg ;Track2=Joy_2_Master.ogg ;Track3=Joy_3_Master.ogg to turn on the music you need to remove the ; before each line containing a track and then change the total tracks to be played. For example if we look at BATTLE : [BATTLE] Tracks=1 Track1=Empty.ogg ;Track1=Battle_1_Mix.ogg ;Track2=Battle_2_Mix.ogg ;Track3=Battle_3_Mix.ogg ;Track4=Battle_4_Mix.ogg ;Track5=Battle_5_Mix.ogg ;Track6=Battle_6_Mix.ogg after the change it should look like: [BATTLE] Tracks=6 Track1=Empty.ogg Track1=Battle_1_Mix.ogg Track2=Battle_2_Mix.ogg Track3=Battle_3_Mix.ogg Track4=Battle_4_Mix.ogg Track5=Battle_5_Mix.ogg Track6=Battle_6_Mix.ogg you dont need to change them all if you dont want to you can change only the ones you want. But Tracks= should equal the number of tracks in that group. KPt, Otto U-137 |

MP3 will play in the gramaphone file. Just paste it in with the .ogg. What is nice about this is sooner or later you tire of the music playing over and over. The gramaphone gives you the option of skipping a song or placing new music in.
