Hello there,
I have been chasing my head after an Auxiliary Cruiser with SH3Generator and I am in October of 1944; one minute the cruiser is here, and after 10 minutes, it's another place. Instead of wandering around and just following the SH3 reports, is that a better way to find the Auxiliary Cruiser with SH3? My SH3 intelligence and accuracy settings are at max. Thanks! James |

Have you ever used Spysat, shows all single ship movements and convoys, takes realism out, but if you want to cut to the chase.....
Have not used it with SHGen so I not sure that it is compatible, somebody will answer that I am sure. Anyway the Spysat Mod can be d\l off danlisa's site, check out the thread I have pasted here. RDP http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ghlight=Spysat |

At sea you will find warships in task forces or convoys. If you're looking for ships in harbours check this out
Moored capital ships (spoiler) Below are the dates and locations of moored capital ships, extracted from the game data files and listed in chronological order. Note that the dates only seem approximate.

Thanks for your replies.
I went over to the Spysat forum thread and found that all of the links did not work. Could someone please send me a working link for the Spysat mod please? Thanks again. James |

Thanks again.
I installed the spysat mod and replaced the Contacts.cfg and the Campaign_RND.mis files with the ones in the Spysat RAR file. However, when the game is initalizing, SH3 will close since it has an error. Do you know what the problem might be? Thanks, James |

For full instructions see this thread - http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=102869 I suspect that you weren't in port before the installation of the SPY Sat mod.

I did not install Jimbuna's GWX Spysat since I do not have GWX, so I installed the SpySat 1.4 Ready mod from server3.realsimulation.com.
Also, I had SH3Gen and I deleted it because it would interfere with the Spysat. Moreover, when I created a new player, the game loaded perfectly but with my current player, the game will err after the initializing process. Thanks in advance. |

Ah, right. The only thing to be wary of is that the Spy Sat mod contains a campaign layer from the version of SH3 that you are using. So Spy Sat must be installed while in port and docked. As for SH3 Gen, this mod will work after Spy Sat has been enabled. SH3 Gen only reads from your save game so thee should be no conflict.
But it sounds as if your up & running. Happy Hunting ![]()

Oh all right, I see. For my new career, the SpySat mod works since I installed in port.
Do you know how can I get my original contacts.cfg and campaign_RND back without reinstalling the game? Thanks a lot! |

Firstly, I would suggest getting the Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME). This allows you to enable/disable mods without effecting your original files.
Get JSGME here - http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products.html And you can get the 1.4b contacts.cfg & RND layer here - http://files.filefront.com/14b_RND__.../fileinfo.html

Thank you very much for your help again.
I installed the Mod Enabler once and SH3 showed an error dialog at the red bar load-up screen. Hence, I re-installed it. With Spy Sat disabled, and having my original SH3 files, SH3 still showed an error dialog at the red bar load-up screen. Does anyone know of the potential problem ? Thanks.
