Default GWX AI sub mod ideer

Since (as yet :p ) AI subs can't fire torpedoes, is there a way their deck gun could be modded to: have only enough shells as they carried torpedoes, have a warhead equivalent to a torpedo warhead, a rate-of fire compared to torpedoes, a max range and speed-of-travel similar to torpedoes?

look up sergbutos posts this is what is meant by "virtual" torpedos. used in his pt boat mods and AI subs mod

Anvart and he are working seperately to get torps working for torpedo bombers. Anvart indicated that in the line of research hes pursuing all sub torps could be available to AI units including Destroyers.

Not as far as I'm aware. I'm sure that if they did it would have been announced years ago. As far as I know the AI subs still can't even dive.

Oh, and WELCOME ABOARD!

I did my own experiments with SH3 last year. Because there was no way to set the torpedoes in SH3 to a realistic speed, I abandoned my efforts.
Torpedoes in SH3 either need to move at about 150 knots or they will plunge downwards.

In SH4, however, AI torpedoes work quite nicely:

This was one of the reasons why I chose SH4 as the platform for my WWI mod.
