I just finished a patrol off the US coast, my patrol grid right near Norfolk, does the US shipping take a while to get going? I hardly got a sniff of anything and I spent two weeks around New York and Norfolk

If you're around Norfolk you can try sneaking into the harbour. There is a CVE and about 4 DDs and a few tankers to be sunk there

I attempted to sneek into New York around 1942 and a convoy was steaming out just as I was making my night time run in. There is shipping the closer you get. I also got a small two ship convoy on the same patrol. I was having some fun but had to run to a milch cow in the middle of nowhere to reload and go back for more!

I remember the coast of New Jersey, as well as the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay being pretty good to me in GW 1.1a. Haven't been there yet in GWX. I'd say try those areas

I'd been sticking to the deep, my patrol grid was CA76 I think, right in the swallow south of Norfolk and I did encounter a lone Tanker which sank thanks to my Deck Gun
