Hi
has anyone found a way round the smack error that you get when you reach the piont in a theater where theres a resupply

I dont have the cd this is the downloaded version.
a list of the *.smk files would be handy to get over this problem as I
could get a *.smk movie of the net and use it to make a list of smack files
so it would play without error.

please help

You'd probably get a better response if you went out and bought a copy of Fast Attack on Ebay, or checked the store here on Subsim.com. You're not going to get anyone to help you with a version that you downloaded from the net. Abandonware is illegal.

Hi thanx for responce, I know what you are saying, I actualy paid cash for this download believing that i was getting the whole CD.
The downloader I was provided with didnt give file size or i would have guessed
it wasnt the whole thing I had already paid by paypal before I got the downloader

I had know idea that abandonware was illegal.
I have been trying to buy the cd for ages I cant find one for sale anywhere

Why is Abandonware illegal? if you cant buy it what harm are you doing having a copy?

I checked the links in the subsim shop and theres plenty in the USA on amazon.com
unfortunetly amazon.co.uk where i live have none.

I will have to keep trying i guess

was it realy a lot to ask for a list of *.smk filenames from a abandoned game

Can't you simply disable the video? I remember Fast attack had an option to disable in-game videos.

Hi, thank you for reply,
yes you have to disable video to get this to work, unfortunetly there are some smack files still needed to play this game without the cd
to play without the cd you must copy some *smk files to a "/video" subdirectory
and update the fast.ini to locate these cruitial *.smk files.

one of these crutial *.smk files is played when you end a mission just prior to
a resupply of the sub, which is aprox mission 3 on most of the theatres of
operation.

if i knew the name of this smack file i could create one and this would play and stop the game from crashing "error unable to open smack movie" when my sub
needs a resupply.

I would love to be able to buy the cd, as this game would be nice with the movies
but ive now spent @ least 5 hours scowering the net for one i can buy in UK and
have found nothing.
