non visual Targeting and engagment

Hey everyone. I've been a lurker on this forum for ages now, and finaly registered to post a question to you guys.

I remember reading a thread or article about using hydrophones to target enemy below perescope depth. At the time I found it too mind boggling to take much interest, but really want to read it now. I can't find it any where though. Does anyone recall this at all, and let me know where I can find it?

It's rather old and relates to stock SH3 but might be what you're looking for.
