yup, the attack periscope and targeting computer, pretty much the stuff you need for a submerged attack, although you dont really need to go up there as you can just need to click on the attack periscope or targeting computer station thing on the left

You should open the torp doors before you fire. I've read that they close after awhile but I've never noticed it because I just keep hitting the "q" key. There switches in conning tower and the control room that are supposed open the doors and keep them open. Not enough reason for me to go either place during an attack. If I can't get there from the "F" keys I don't bother.

When you are in the control room just click on the hatch at the top of the ladder that leads to the conning tower and you are in. You can also then click on the hatch that leads to the bridge as well. When you are on the bridge right click you mouse to go to the conning tower and right click again to get back to the control room.

I have discovered also that when I am on deck and right click I go to the conning tower. Otherwise when submerged I click on the above trap in command room.
I always do my submerged attacks from there, as I have all info around me, going in and out of the scope (KP 0 to get out) and use the switches under the scope to open doors having a visual confirmation it's opened.

Of course F3 takes you directly to the attack scope, but I like to use the ladder to the tower and then click on the scope from there. It just feels more real.

As was pointed out right-clicking from the bridge takes you to the tower. I like to do that just before I dive, as if you don't you are automatically taken directly to the control room, which is not right. I wish the 'P' and 'C' buttons put you in the tower instead of the control room, but you take what you can get.

I use "setkeys" and use "k" key to automatically go to the conning tower, you might choose another key, but "K" has very little use in my sub world. The SetKey program can be found at the Subsim download section.
