Default Advantage of GWX over GW1.1

I have GW1.1 installed and love it. However, what do you get extra with GWX? Maybe too much to say in one post. Graphics, realism (in what form), etc? The one thing I read was the destroyers are much harder. While I enjoy realism, not sure I'm interested in superstar destroyers (hee hee star wars funny).

Just wondering as I'm in base now and could probably upgrade.

Yes, its too much to answer in one post.

But you cant upgrade GW 1.1a, you have to uninstall SH3, delete folder in "My documents", patch to 1.4b, and then install GWX.

Too sum it all up....you get a completely new game of SH3. I think it is fair to say it is the difference between night and day???? If you do not notice a difference in the first loading and play of GWX, you are not looking hard enough

The Kiel Canal with bridges, traffic and proper cities.

And I can't even play it yet!

Get rid of everything else and install GWX. You will not regret it

Using GWX doesn't mean you have to dislike the rest. I'm thinking about a third install to have a go at WAC...

Oh I totally agree with you. It's just that GWX is so great for me that I cannot even try to play anything else. But that's me of course it doesn't mean that others have to follow my views

You get to know the true meaning of the word "Monsoon boat" it rains quite a lot in the Far East.

I have found that its not absolutely necessary to uninstall SH3 you can go down the multiple installation route, as I did and keep your GW1.1a installation intact should you need to go back to it. Just make sure you rename the main SH3 folder to something like SHIII[GW1.1a] and cut and paste the GW1.1a version of the SH3 folder in "My Documents" to somewhere safe. Then use the repair option on the installation DVD to install another version of SH3, patch then apply GWX.

After using GWX with no problems I have now deleted my old GW1.1a version to recover some disk space.
