Default Disk Fear

Hi All,

Need some help... I run GWX, RUB and NY. Every time I run one of them I have to put my SH III disk in for the disk protection. My fear is that something will happen to my disk and I won't be able to play untill I find a new disk. Is there any way that I do not have to use the disk?

There are ways of avoiding having to insert the original disk, but discussing such methods here is very much verbooten.

I cant understand why program like SF is allowed! AFAIK, everyone has the right to make one (1) backup copy of the CD/DVD they have bought. With SF "protected" games it´s not possible.

I have found that my disks only get scratched when I mishandle or remove them from the drive.. I have 2 CD/DVD drives & keep SHIII in one of them at all times.. Just be caeful handling it & put it in a sleeve when you need the drive & you'll be fine..

I bought and downloaded mine from online, and I've never needed a disk to run the game.

Ja, ok...since I bought the game and payed for it, I don't see any reason why I should not speak about it. And btw....wanna know smth ? The method I am using to avoid inserting the original dvd into the drive, I know it exactly from the source. Ubi Romania. So...Ubi does not replace my disk if it is damaged. The manufacturer of the drive does not support my damage. Bottom line...it;s hypocrisy to forbid anyone to speak about this.

this is exactly what i do, i have two drives and no matter what i'm playing shIII stays in my main drive.
if i ever take it out for any reason i ALWAYS put it neatly into its case.
this technique has allowed me to go on playing classics like ascendancy, x-wing etc.. its all about looking after your disks.
that and not letting your 3 yr old use it as a frisbee.

Read this thread for an explanation on why we don´t want to have discussions about cracks here or links to cracks.
