Default Which is your favorite sub in the game?

Hey, Everyone

My favorite sub would have to be the type XXI, from a technical standpoint it is simply amazing IMHO.

Which btw is there any mod or anything that allows you to get the type XXI sub right off the bat in career mode? I know you can get the sub around 1944 but by then the war is almost over and that doesn't give you much time to break her in.

Regrads,
Ryan

Click on "edit" under your post and see the poll options at the bottom of that page.

if I was actually in WW2 I would want to be on a IID.
Why?
Because they dive faster than any other boat, stay in shallow waters, weren't sent on risky patrols and came back in a couple of weeks at most.

That means they are relatively safe from aircraft and lone destroyers and you get plenty of time in port. The crews where all well trained as well because they had almost all trained before the war and done peacetime patrols.

Anything for the easy life.

Actually you should have done a quick search under Thread Titles for "Favorite":

1) VIIC
2) IXD2
3) XXI
4) IID

VIIC is good... Short patrol... Fast diving speed... Many fish

IXD2 is due to its large load of fish and fuel... A set back is the diving speed

XXI is due to its advanced technogy... Set back is impossible to obtain one (except using trainners or use SH3 commander to give me this boat when I join Bdu)

IID is due to its short patrol time and I can do a patrol every month... unlike IXB... which I need to crawl to American coast and crawl back...

Well I had a XIB that I added all the extras to and hated because it didn't have the range. I went back 11 patrols and reloaded the patrol before I upgraded.

This time I upgraded to a VIIC and attempted again to get into Scapa Flow. I had been driven off several times in my IX. This On my lucky 13th patrol I sank the King George and totaled over 101.000 tons.

Guess I'll refuel and rearm in Wilhemshaven and try Loch Ewe.

I do like the Type IID.

What would be ideal is if there were a Type XXIII in the game. Very maneuverable, fast, but a short range boat with just 2 eels.

A seehund and a biber would be cool also...
