Default Wish me luck

October 11, 1939

The VIIB U-51 is aproaching Loch Eve, on its first harbour raid in GWX. All but 2 eels left, everything on the boat perfect, but the weather is terrible, heavy fog, rain and huge waves. Both Nelson and Rodney are in port, along with Hood and Illustrius. Wish me luck

Then it means the game is far too easy... (One of the reasons I don't make harbour raids, shooting at sitting ducks from 3 klicks away is no sport.)

You're right. There was not a single DD patrolling the port. But there was 6-7 mored near the capital ships, but they didnt move, of course...

It's rather surprising they didn't start moving when the first ship went boom !!!
Specially at this time you only have steamers they should spot the trails. Who said the DDs where uber strong in GWX ?

Ask him what his "realism settings" are in game... and if he uses the free camera.

How easy or how hard the game is... is dependant on that.

Lets see you guys do this kind of mission on the above port using 100 percent realism as designed by the GWX dev team.

Methinks there will be funerals everywhere... and little success.

Raiding harbors is not something BdU would typically assign anyway.

Much of the "realism" in SH3 or any mod is naturally ignored by casual gamers... which is just fine.

Another factor for the "hardcore player" (Like myself) ... we don't just go raiding harbors or doing things that wouldn't normally happen anyway.

To each his own... but "realism" is in the end determined by the player... NOT the mod.

Realism very low, free camera on, yes. BUT I were still able to be fully surfaced inside the lock because there were no ships patrolling it (and the weather was horrible...) But I guess that only happends once, early in the war.

I know this wouldnt had been possible with a single DD patroling inside it, you did a great job with them in GWX, once they "sense" you in shallow waters, its over.

However 6 DD's just sitting still next to the capitals, pinging me, watching the BB's they defend sink, and keep pinging me without doing anything, is just dumb.

Calm down Kpt, mate.

Like you said, the realism is determined by how the player chooses to play it.
