DW impressions

I bought DW recently and I must say - wow, this game is simply amazing with the level of detail it offers (it reminds me one of the 1st games of its kind - "Red Storm Rising" that I played on C64 many years ago - probably the first one which simulated thermal layers!). I've just printed DW manual (it almost killed my cartridge ) and started my first mission on 688... now it's learning time .

Welcome to Dangerous Waters! If you liked Red Storm Rising, try out the custom RSR campaign available from my site.

Yeah, I already saw this campaign was available from your site and I'm going to give it a try, this is certain! But first I'm going to learn the basics and play the stock game missions. Thanks!

it is when you come online that the game begins.

I bought this game about a month ago and am still feeling my way around. So far I do like it quite a bit though the graphics are pretty weak by today's standards. But the game itself isn't really about graphics and eye candy so from that standpoint I give it a 100%.

(As an aside, after I bought DW I also picked up the Naval Combat Pack. While I prefer WWII subsims I have come to appreciate the complexity and knowledge needed to play modern subs. In another words, I love 'em now, too!)

Basically, DW is a challenge...and that's an understatement to say the least. That's why I like the game. I like to be challenged.

DW has some faults. And you can say it's a lot of things. But it ain't no arcade. And I LOVE that in a Naval sim.

I learn by playing "quick missions" on 688 sub with manual sonar & tma. Very challenging but gives a lot of fun. Especially TMA can be frustrating
