Default Just another Sh3 Commander question :)

Hiya.

Got some questions

1. Shall we use the combined skinpack that is for sh3 commander whit GWX or is that file not necessary anylonger regarding all thos new ship models and skins that comes whit GWX?

2. Is there any file that correct the historical value of subeblems?
Ive had 2 subs now and iam using historical and limit the sub numbers for my flotillia but there was no subemblems for thos 2.

3. Im using realship names in patrol log but i wanted little more info after the shipnames so i tryed to add some by add the info in the cfg file.
But it never show up in my patrol log.
Are there any restrictions how many letters that can be typed after each shipnames?
And is it possible to add info if i want and if so, how do i do it so it show up in patrol log?

Example is: In the cfg file.

0010=S.S. Adamandios Georgandis

I try to add this so it show up:

0010=S.S. Adamandios Georgandis. COMPLIMENT: 55 (41 dead and 14 survivors). The Ship was torpedoed amidships by one of two torpedoes. The ship sank by the stern after being hit by a coup de grâce. The master, 28 crew members and twelve passengers were lost. Nine crew members, one gunner and four passengers were picked up by the British merchant Bernardo II and landed safe in port 10 days later.

I know its a mega work and that shipnames is random for many different shiptypes ingame so therefor i have to keep the text so it can fit to nearly all ships , no matter if its a tanker or a small merchant.
And i was just planning to add this to some of the shipnames and not all.
It could be fun reading when i check the patrol log to se some info about the sinking on some of the ships.

I was gona use Uboat.net site as a reference.

Thanks.

No the combined skins pack is not recomended for SH3Cmd if you're playing GWX

I don't think so, but there are quite a few emblems packs out there. Just get the one you like and add it to the game

The ships names will appear in the log book after you finish your patrol. You exit GWX and you use SH3Cmd to view your personal file. There you can see the names of your victims. About the extra info I don't know but I don't think it will be easy to do.

OK Sorry about that mate. I thought of telling you this just to be on the safe side. As far as the extra add ons I'm not sure how it can be done. I remember I read something about it long time ago in this forum. I would suggest a search or a PM to JScones. After all he created SH3Cmd

You can, but gee it would look messy, notwithstanding the fact that SH3 would either truncate most of the text anyway or at worst CTD due to text overload.

Your log entry would look like this:

Ship sunk!
Grid DH 53
S.S. (Tramp Steamer), 2978 tons

But try it. As far as your Personnel File is concerned, everything should look OK...but this is of little benefit if SH3 chokes...
