Default Vanilla.....??? ROFL!!!!!!

I've just popped the SHIII-dvd off the shelf, preparing for GWX with a clean install and 1.4 update. I couldnt resist, so i fired up SHIII stock version... MY GOD, ITS BORING:rotfl::rotfl:!!! Understand me correct, but after playing various mods, i think im spoiled on eye-candy and realism.. This just proves the hypotesis: The GW & GWX team have made (and are making) a whole new game, based on the SHIII-platform!

I think the original SH3 was the one with the GW mods , and that the stock one released by the devs was a haxx0red version.

Definitly a rebirth with advent of GW and GWX.

The only addittion I can think of that might still fit into vanilla would be some tumbleweed floating down the navigation channel as your leaving that shipless port

:rotfl:I posted almost exactly the same message on the GWX Beta forum some weeks ago, seth. I reinstalled SH3 with 1,4b while waiting for the download, but I couldn`t wait, of course, so off I went on a vanilla patrol. The game looked and felt like crap in comparison. (this is important, IN COMPARISON. Its still a great game)

Are you kidding me? I lasted until I sunk a C2 cargo with one (yes, thats right, ONE) artillery shell in the training mission. :rotfl:

Yup i agree Lanzfeld, If it wasn't for the Modders IMO this game would gotten tedious very quickly. I for one salute ALL the modders of SH3 and anyother game that They give up thier free time to produce mods that adds ALL kinds of things to games to improve thier longevity.Any game that does not include an SDK of some kind Tends to not last as long as a game released with an SDK.Look at the abundance of "Mods" for BF1942 and that game is still going strong (even i still play it ). And to this day they are STILL releasing mods for it. So if the "DEVS" are listening please PLEASE release some kind of modding tools with SH4..look what the modders have done Without one, Can you imagine what they could produce With one.

PS i know i'm in a mod team..However i'm only a researcher and i could'nt mod my way out of a wet paper bag. But i know what the guys in GW has had to put up with...It's like kind of re-inventing the wheel, it's a long tedious Job so i know what all modders kind of go through. All you modders deserve a medal
This is why i would love the Modders to have an SDK.

IF i want to play arcade mode i install vanilla
If i want realism mode i install GW or NYGM

Actually i lasted about a week playing the vanilla. I went from vanallia to GW to back to vanilla as i was waiting for more ram to play GW without the lagg. Actually quite enjoyed vanilla for the week i played it,
my tonnage hit the roof i rammed destroyers and survived what more could a kapitan want?

Now and then i play GW with no external view as this is the best way to play the game.
