Bah. At least I hope it's not New Year's.

I'd probably make a joke about paranoia here right now, but a close friend of mine is flying to London for New Year's with her family

Humbug this statement comes out every year dating right back to the active days of the IRA. Bombs are not the only weapon terrorist use and any way they could strike on any day of the year.

I have to say of course, leaving Islam alone for a minute - the whole idea of some sort of direct instruction to young kids about religion without their parents' consent sounds like a terrible idea to me. I would be near-violently opposed to it.

But let's not turn it into another religious thread, shall we?

We was talking about bombers, not headscarves. Surely the two aren't always together?

It's a Scottish conspiracy. John Reid keeps the nation gripped in fear to consolidate the scot boys grip on power

Who needs Alex Salmond when you have the three stooges, Brown, Blair and Reid. :rotfl:

And all three could not organise a night out if they tried.

What a weird article.
Quote:
"The threat in this country is very high indeed. It is at the second highest level and people now know that publicly, because we publish it on the web. And that means that it is highly likely that there'll be a terrorist attempt," Mr Reid told GMTV's Sunday programme.
There's now a high chance of attack because people know about it?

Someone needs to study sentence construction.

As for the threat itself, yawn. Chances are far, far higher of dying in a motor accident, freak storm, homicide, disease, or other non-terrorist cause, yet I don't see anyone posting warning threads about them. The Huge, Evil, Global Terrorist Threat To End Them All™ is slightly overblown when put into perspective with just about, well...

...

...Anything.

Indeed. There's a lot of real dangers out there.

Bloody stupid. Threat level is high, because we say it's high. Rubbish.
And why does he call the IRA republicans? That's like referring to the July 7th bombers as martyrs.....eejit

It’s a good way of putting fear in most people and take there mind off all the money they are going to waste over Xmas, Gordon Brown will have another excuse to say everything is ticker-t-boo.
