Hello,
I am pretty new on SH3, I wanted to develop a list of the most dangerous ships on GW. I wonder if you could help me to make a list with some of the worst ones shown in the recon book. Tx a lot |

By far I'd say a King George Battleship is the worst to have to deal with IF you're in a bad position. Nelson's are also bad when you are forced to surface by severe flooding. In contrast, King George Battlships are pretty easy to sink if you aim behind the bridge. It took me 2 that slammed in right under the bridge to sink it. The funny fact was that I once fired 1 into a George's stern and it blew up and sank in a matter of seconds.

Any enemy vessel catching you on the surface is dangerous...probably the least worrying would be the Elco, but anything else with a deck gun (and I include merchants) can do you serious harm.
![]() As said earlier by Seth...the destroyer (normally the fastest enemy surface vessel-in mid ocean) is probably the one to be most wary of because when in times of danger a submarine uses the oceans depths for sanctuary/safety therefore nullifying the surface vessels deck guns..... a destroyer (and most other escorts) still have a secondary weapon to destroy you with...namely deptharges...hedgehogs etc. ![]() RESPECT THEM ALL!! ![]() |

Stay away from Trawlers, too. Those depth charges can make short work of a sub trying to hide. If anything, sink the heaviest and most dangerous escorts first and ignore the smaller ones that have only mg's and cannons. Then, take out the merchants. That's my tactic. BTW, I finally got that Nelson I wanted.

I believe River destroyer escort, Somers, and Fletcher destroyer are most deadly against submarines after 1943. They usually smell where I am from miles out and no matter how deep I am, as I have to be really lucky if one doesn't pick me up on their sonar. Only time I can deal with them in convoy if there storm, high waves, or my sub to be really close to the land on coast.
