These torpedo descriptions sound awfully familiar

In the course of doing some research I happened to discover this article on torpedoes (http://uboat.net/technical/torpedoes.htm)

Is it just me, or do these descriptions sound awfully familiar?

I would say that this was a great source for the dev team and i hope that just as reliable information from other websites can be used for SH4 .

I guess I was more wondering the eternal 'chicken-and-the-egg' question here: which was first? This article or SHIII?
