Every time I load a game, I get a "base changed to (basename here)" message that I have to ok several times- not ever the base i'm actually stationed at, mind you. For example, I'm stationed at Lorient and it tells me teh base is changed to Kiel.. This was all fine and dandy until I transferred over to the 27th(i think) flotilla from the 2nd. Whereas before, 4-5 clicks were enough to get me through, this time it becomes "Base changed to (null)" and no amount of clicks gets me through. Is there any fix or workaround for this?

Are you using GW????
I think this is an effect if you use a career that has started with the stock SH in GW. If you start a new one there will be no problem. I was never 'blocked' with a 'NULL' base name before, but I have seen the 'Base Change to Kiel' a lot without any real problems.

Yes, I have also faced such a problem when I attempted to use my old, backup records (after I reinstalled Windows) in my new SH3 (at that time, I wanted to have a fresh taste of NYGM mod v2.2) Same problem occured. Not yet resolved and I decided to start a new campaign instead of clicking the "OK" button everytime I continue my career

I have had this also but did not experience the NULL base with exception of using a base a milch cow. I just kept hitting the button. Anyway, I removed the entire game and patches along with GW. Did a fresh install and have not had the problem since.

I'm not using GW, but I had previously installed (and later uninstalled) war ace campaign.
