Stuff I'd like implemented:

PASSIVE SONAR- Right now the 'estimate distance to target' doesn't do anything different, but I've heard people say it was/is supposed to allow you to use enemy active sonar to find distance. This makes TOTAL sense, and would be AWESOME for helping you to avoid enemy escorts (especially later in the war).

Contact reports for aircraft- Given how effective planes were vs U-boats, I would be very surprised if BdU did not find some way to help their boats avoid them. Sure planes travel fast, but even getting a contact report of enemy planes 200 km away would be a nice warning to stay under for a little while.

Radio interception- Because Enigma was decoded, the Allies could intercept U-boats by intercepting the radio traffic between them and their bases. I always thought it would be a little more exciting if every contact report/update you made ran the risk of giving away your position. Since this would just make people have radio silence (assuming they even bothered to use the radio in the first place) maybe offer some renown bonuses for reporting contact reports/reporting big ships sunk. If you sank a Nelson or an Illustrious, I'm sure BdU would like to know ASAP

Unique missions- The Germans did a lot of things with U-boats besides sink ships. They landed saboteurs in New York, and operated tests for experimental naval versions of the V-2 rocket. It would be neat to have special missions like this. Maybe late war missions where you have to ferry stuff to Japan in the twilight hours of the war, or smuggling Nazi gold to Argentina, you know, cloak-and-dagger type stuff
