Well ventured out on my 1st mission. Running submerged and only using periscope for a few seconds. Spotted a carrier with at least two escourts at 5000 meters at 3000 meters I started to set up for the shot. Still no hydro so I was feeling prety cool. I raised the scope and locked on the carrier with 15 AOB and a yellow triangle at about 2500 meters. As I was waiting for optimum solution I got the dredded message "we may have been spotted" I was still going to wait untill I saw the escourt tur towards me. I was set up for a spread of four so I turned them all lose and headed for the bottom and silent running. For all of the forums advise when the charges got to close I went hard port at flank. This appeared to work because their was no hydro, however there were still sonar tails intersecting me on my map. As I was laying their I got the message "torpedo impact" Does this meane that one of my torps hit the carrier? Hope so. After no charges for about an hour and no hydro I went to periscope depth at which point I got my lawn mowed by one of the escorts and we all drank seawater... Was he/she setting dead waiting for me. Whos sonar was it on the Map? Did I leave mine on? Where did I go wrong. If this keeps up I wount start my carrer for 5 more years. Where did I go Wrong?
