Default Austria say good bye to her Navy

Austria is no longer a navy superpower since the end of the WW1 but still got 2 patrol craft in his navy that patrol the Danube. On the november 16th, she will no have any more a navy, she will give all her ships (Oberst Brecht and Niederösterreic) to a museum.

The surprising news is that a country without access to the sea since 1818 still have something called Navy; a river patrol force seems mostly a police thing.

Looking for the dismantling of Kuwaitian skiing troops too.

During the cold war at least 300 russian ship where anchor along the uastian border, most of them were spying ships. The 2 patrol boat jsut maintain a police because of the heavy traffic due to the russian ships!

Why would Austria have a navy? Do they sail their ships in the mountains or something? Last time i checked on a map, they were a landlocked country.:hmm:

Switzerland has a navy!! A couple of patrol boats on lake Geneva. They did win the America's Cup off New Zealand (most of the crew were from other nations, included New Zealand!)

I know how ya feel MSgalileo, NZ got rid of its combat airforce even if it was only 28 very old Skyhawks but the deal was before the election in late 90's that we would buy 22, F-16's to replace the skyhawkes. After the election Labour won with our granny Helen Clark prime minister who cancel it and mothballed the skyhawks, she then went and spent 180million on the new zealand music industry and other fairy retarded crap.

Oh and our navy one time there was in the middle of purchasing 3 submarines the same type as australia i think they're called "Collins"? Can't remeber the name, yet she cancelled that too!!!

Bolivia have a navy too but closed in the titicaca lake in south america, they lost his coast in a war, and since then are revindicating the territory to chile .

but is a very small navy, only patrol boats patrolling the waters that limited with chile, no submarines frigates or carriers.
