Default The Military Channel Shows U boats

Recently in the last few days . I watched the military channels Battle Front . This is a epilouge series of battles that were fought WW2 . The last feature had a real U-boat captain narrating about U- boat activites in the atlantic . One thing that was said that I find interesting , Because of the concentration of allied ASW ops . the first u-boat that made contact with a convoy was not allowed too attack . A message was sent and that u-boat tracked the convoy until - a group of uboats were able too attack the convoy . they than attacked as a wolfpack . Iam now using the NGYM mod and . I have sent reports via radio to the BDU , and Iam not sure in a non multiplayer campaign if there the AI is producing othe U-boats to help intercept the convoy . I find myself alone and have lost 2 sh3 comanders on thier first cruises . I have had Sh3 for at least a year and still Iam A newbie . Ima still learning how too target manully and also tracking a convoy when the BDI sends A report . Its seems that NGYM mode makes it alot better evern if your are not plotting the chart to intecept the convoy fpr some reason after failing to intercept a convoy without plotting a course to intercept iam comming closer with using logical guessing as to were the convoy will be . now this has been a result of failures in the past amd not using the NGYM mod . Radar that is featured in the mod even though earlier is causing waves to help me intercept . I wish that there was a Enginge within this Mod that would call -up other boats that are AI and work as a wolfpack . so that Iam not the sole target of DD and Corvettes . I have to keep reading and learning more . there is really more to this sim then meets the eye - Its has been a awesome expereance so far . Now it is time to define and strengthen my knowledege as a U_baot captain . iam asking My fellow sim captains is there any other information that a green u-boat caption can absorb . maybe a an academy of sorts on the basics of what is really needed to be at a 100 % ? Not using auto targeting etsc and tracking convoys . I have read the newbies start page etc . ima looking for an academy of sorts . so Far on my 3 rd patrol in NGYM , I have sunk 8603 tons , and Iam now tracking a convoy . I have been attacked alot from the 2 destroyers and the corvette . keeping pace with the convoy that appears to be moving towards england . Thanks your comments are appreciated

In the future, you should probably make things like this in your own Topic, but that's ok .

As for Wolf Packs, you wont find 'em in SH3. A major gripe that is constantly being harped on by the SubSim community (I happen to agree, Wolf Packs would have been wonderful).

You say you have read all the information for beginners on SubSim; have you read Wazoo's Manual? It is quite helpful when it comes to manual targetting. Also, if you are looking for an academy, I will point out the obvious and suggest that you complete the U-Boat Academy that comes with the game if you have not already done so.

Welcome to SubSim,
Good luck and good hunting!
