I just finished a few more updates to my patrol blog. So far it seems to add a lot of enjoyment for me and allows me to share my game experiences with others without becoming a burden in terms of time.
Do you guys like the format? Any suggestions? I need to get some more screenshots in there, but I'm having some sort of issue with the image not showing up properly though the first one went up without a hitch. Hopefully I can get that resolved tonight since it adds to the overall feel. Thanks for reading and go ahead and post comments if you like! http://trompetespieler.blogspot.com/

Re: format, suggestions:
I used to do patrol logs and found SH3 commanders log's a great help. The biggest decsioon i had to make was to write it in a "matter of fact" tone, or try and flesh in character development. In the end, the former won out over the later as i got the impression character's werent as exciting as reading a "real" patrol log. Im not sure which i'd stick with honestly. Theres an audience for either one i think. In the end i always settled on writing a "real" log because it was easier. I'd keep a notebook with me and jot down minor details of Where , when, and what. Then go back and merge that into the log that SH3 commander generated as a general framework, and use my notes to flesh it in.. It's alot of work, but the report comes out fairly accurate. Heres one of my last ones: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=92618 Keep in mind i had pictures that i later deleted from my server so its not as complete as it once was. Personnaly ive given up on writing logs. I honestly don't think i had a wide enough audience to justify the time i spent writing it, but thats not to say there isnt an audience. |
