I have Grey Wolves 1.1a installed. I was told to check atmosphere 16 km light because my screen at night I could not see a darn thing, so I did. It made no difference. I still cannot see anything at night except the lights in the buildings in the harbour, but that's all.
Stabiz mentioned to me that it is the monitor I am using. It is a Seanix FLAT slim TFT LCD monitor. Stabiz says that by reinstlling 8 km dark will solve my problem. Is this correct??? I need help. I would like someone who worked on designing TGW to respond. Last edited by robj250; 11-04-06 at 10:16 AM. |

I would take Stabiz recommendation. Stabiz is the guru of video. Besides, whats the worst that could happen....nothing. There are other threads in the help forum on this subject. Sometimes you just have to adjust you brightness on the monitor.

Hehe, Rob, I`m no expert on this, but you said there was no light version? The numbers (8, 16) have nothing to do with gamma, they are indications of how long visiblity you have. (8 km is best for not-so-strong computers)
I would think the light version is for people that find the game to dark. Anyway, where are the GW guys?

I’m running the TGW and having similar problems, I try setting up both ways, a dark one and a light one, I’m thinking it’s just that my computer is not up to stuff to be able to handle it. I’m running one version of TWG without the light or dark clicked, which makes the sky very boring, but what I’ve seen of TWG so far it’s worth getting a new computer.

Johnnie’s Quote: Found the solution for my machine. Installing the "Atmosphere Light" did not help. What did help was not to install any of the GW "Atmosphere" choices. There are 3. Now it is as bright as vanilla SH3 was. Yeah! Did that but the sky is now boring as all getout ![]() Can maybe this be adjusted in a files or something like that

What I will do is take a snap of TGW at night at the dock and then a snap of SH3 heavily modded at night at the dock and compare them. I will even put the link to the snaps in this thread. |

Hi: Well I loaded TGW again and the scene that I mention above "Change Realism" was the same (the info was on the left side on water). Interesting enough that same page was different when I first installed it (the info was on the on a white pad). But anyway, back to the darkness looking through the periscope at night. With just remove friendly mines. While talking about the mines, if I don't check that box, is there a chance that I would run into my own mines and get blown up?
Here is the snap using TGW1.1a http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/8664/snap058uc9.jpg Here is the snap using SH3 http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/6629/snap061lz3.jpg Almost exactly the same. Last edited by robj250; 11-04-06 at 02:43 PM. |

Those pics dont look too dark to me.
Oh, yes you get blown up if you hit "friendly" mines. There is a destroyer that is leading you out everytime you leave port, but I unchecked friendly mines out of lazyness.

I agree with Stabiz, however, there is a simple floor with posting pictures to illustrate the darkeness of your game. Every monitor is different and as such will be displayed quite differently to what you're seeing.
The only suggestion I can give you is to try and find the gamma adjustment setting within your graphics card's settings. However, do not adjust it too much as then colours will become too 'washed out'.
