Default A question

Ok its now early 1941 february 27th to be exact this is my 17th patrol i have a very good crew now very experianced and a top of the range type VIIB.

I want to sink either a cruise carrier or battle ship i dont care what just a semi major / major unit now ive been into scapa flow 3 times and only once there was a ship HMS Renown sank her, ive been into loch ewe and nothing also now been into another loch and also liverpool and up the bristol channel and ive found nothing not even a coastal merchant to sink.

I am going to try gibralter now but are tere any places that the british hide thier capital ships or cruisers and carriers?

Hello

I think this is what you're looking for

Moored capital ships (spoiler)

Below are the dates and locations of moored capital ships, extracted from the game data files and listed in chronological order. Note that the dates only seem approximate.

  • 1939/09/15 - 1939/10/10, Auxiliary Cruiser, Scapa Flow
  • 1939/10/04 - 1939/10/14, Battleship Revenge, Scapa Flow
  • 1939/11/01 - 1940/01/05, Battleship Nelson, Loch Ewe
  • 1940/03/01 - 1940/05/01, Auxiliary Cruiser, Scapa Flow
  • 1940/03/07 - 1940/04/25, Aircraft Carrier Illustrious, Scapa Flow
  • 1940/04/01 - 1940/06/01, Auxiliary Cruiser, Scapa Flow
  • 1940/05/17 - 1945/01/01, Fiji Light Cruiser, Loch Ewe
  • 1940/05/24 - 1940/06/30, Dido Light Cruiser, Scapa Flow
  • 1940/12/11 - 1940/12/31, Battleship King George V, Scapa Flow
  • 1941/02/01 - 1941/02/17, Auxiliary Cruiser, Scapa Flow
  • 1941/02/10 - 1941/03/20, Auxiliary Cruiser, Scapa Flow
  • 1942/02/03 - 1942/02/28, Battleship King George V, Scapa Flow
[Edit by Foehammer1] If you have trouble decrypting the dates in the above format like I once did, here is a more readable chart. Thanks to whoever posted the one above!
  • 1939 Sept,15 - 1939 Oct,10 Auxiliary Cruiser, Scapa Flow
  • 1939 Oct,4 - 1939 Oct,14, Battleship Revenge, Scapa Flow, Royal Oak
  • 1939 Nov,1 - 1940 Jan 05, Battleship Nelson, Loch Ewe
  • 1940 Mar,1 - 1940 May 1, Auxiliary Cruiser, Scapa Flow
  • 1940 Mar,7- 1940 Apr 25, Aircraft Carrier Illustrious, Scapa Flow
  • 1940 Apr,1 - 1940 June 1, Auxiliary Cruiser, Scapa Flow
  • 1940 May,17 –Till the end of the war, Fiji Light Cruiser, Loch Ewe
  • 1940 May,24- 1940 June 30, Dido Light Cruiser, Scapa Flow Useless, only 5,000 tons+ high risk
  • 1940 Dec,11- 1940 Dec 31, Battleship King George V, Scapa Flow
  • 1941 Feb,1- 1941 Feb 17, Auxiliary Cruiser, Scapa Flow
  • 1941 Feb,10- 1941 Mar 20, Auxiliary Cruiser, Scapa Flow
  • 1942 Feb,3- 1942 Feb 28, Battleship King George V, Scapa Flow
Overlapping dates mean there are 2 ships in the same harbor, ex. Oct. 9 1939 both Revenge and Aux. Cruiser are in Scapa Flow

Glad to be of help.

If you haven't checked the community manual please do. There is a lot of information in there that you might find useful. Also if you're looking for US Carriers check out Norfolk Naval Base. There is an Escort Carrier there during the whole war.

Good Luck and Good Hunting
