Default Torpedo loadout screen bug

I have been having problems recently with the torpedo loadout screen, firstly the 'overlay' of the sub and its torpedo slots tends to flicker on and off. Secondly when I tried to drag and drop the torpedoes from the top two external forward torpedo slots, into the forward internal reserve slots for loading, the torpedoes disappeared, and the top external slots went completely grey, i.e. they don't even show a black torpedo outline. This happened towards the end of a mission, and now even at the start of my next mission, the top two slots are grey. I play vanilla SH3 1.5 with a couple of mods of my choosing.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Thanks I checked out the thread, however I don't quite understand what this poster is saying:

Quote:
Ther are 2 things you can do. Search the forum for the thread about the flashing screen, I remember reading about a fix with the config file that takes care of the problem. This was about 6 or 7 months ago. It also happens in the IXC also, one other thing I did was down load a mod called wolfies tweek pak. After you create the short cut you can make as many tubes as you want. Now what I did was keep the tubes the same, if it said I have 6 torps then I still would change to 6 and do the same for each one. If you want to keep it the way the game gave it to you. But first just click on the boat make the change then click on the year. Save to all years and the problem is gone. Has not happen to me since I did this 6 months ago.
Hope this helps.

Regards

Chuck
However I do have Wolfies Tweekpak so I'll give it a fiddle with.

Sorry if my post is confusing to you, If you want to e-mail me at charles.mester@comcast.net about what you do not under stand and I will try and explain it better for you. It has worked great for me. There is also a post way back that you can search for where some body gave a real good explantion on how to change the con fig files which will stops the bug from happening. Search for ixd2 bug or flashing screen bug. Hope this helps.

Good Hunting

Chuck

Thanks Chuck, no need for an email, I did a search (maybe that's what I should have done in the first place!) and got this thread:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...lashing+screen

I think I'll just drop the two "extra" externals in the cfg files.

How would one do this using the Tweek pak (instead of editing the cfg files)? I see that you can change the loadout with the pak but I didn't see anywhere I could drop the two tubes entirely...

Since you have that problem, I assume you are playing with the stock game. Bear in ming that this and 100s other fixes are included in the Grey Wolves modpack.

Back in your case; Long ago, I made a fix for the IXD/2 similar torpedo problems. You might want to check this fix:

http://users.forthnet.gr/ath/helsing...edo_Fix_v4.zip

Check also the thread:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=89466

and read the readme carefully, especially if you have other mods installed.

Thanks I had a look but gives a 404 Not Found, and the other thread is for a IXD2 (I neglected to mention I am in fact in a IXC).

As for the GW supermod, sigh, downloading from my location is really crappy, and such a huge download size is out of the question... perhaps its time I donated to Subsim again and I can get Onkel Neal to send me another Subsim goodies CD!

Anyways I'll give editing the CFG files or Wolfies Tweek Pak a try.
