Newbie\Grey Wolves Supermod questions

I just recently got SHIII a few weeks ago. I have been a huge fan of SH1 & 2 and more recently I have been enjoying playing SHIII while browsing this forum. My first question is in regards to gameplay\history. I thought I had read somewhere that type VII boats were sent across the atlantic to the wast coast of the us and\or carribbean (with the assistance of milk cows im assuming), could anyone shine some light on this? Anyone ever taken their type VII over there? I also just installed the GW Supermod and im waiting for it to load right now. I am attempting to load a mid mission save but after I say yes to that popup box thats say something along the lines of "loading this saved game will something something something do you want to continue?" I get another box that says "Base has been changed to Kiel". I find this to be more than a little bit stange as this is my first patrol out of Brest. Is loading from anywhere other than base known to cause issues? Do I need to reload from base or.....start a new carreer?

Virtually every mod going carries the warning that modding a game while in mid-patrol is ba-aaaaaaaaad. It does screwy things, can mess up or ruin your career if not crash it (and the game) completely.

There's no hard guarentees modding won't do the same even if you're docked at port between patrols, but your chances of that are a lot less than if you do so mid-patrol.

My suggestion would be to reload from base, or just start a new career with the added mod.

Yeah im pretty sure I just boned myself. After clicking ok on the message that says "base hase been changed to kiel" about 10 times it finally begins to load but then crashes the game before it finishes. I deleted that save and am in the process of reloading at the base as we speak. Maybe I didnt do quite enough reading on the subject before I installed. I saw that it was finally done downloading today so I just had to load it

Well that looks like another crash to me

Looks like im back to sqare one...kriegsmarine grid square 1 that is. Im going to go throw up my lunch, cry in the shower, and see about starting my carreer over agian. Thanks for the quick response. I kind of already knew that I had screwd myself but I needed someone else to confirm before I started a new carreer. I think this time Ill try playing it DiD (dead is dead.):hmm:
