Type XXI in 1939?

I could swear I saw a post about a year ago on how to enable the Type XXI at the beginning of the war, but the forum search tool is not returning any results for me. Could someone please point me in the right direction? I currently am running v1.4b and just installed SH3 Commander v2.6.

I'm not sure about the forum topic link, but I do know that it took a lot of work, because you had to edit all of the dates for the more modern equipment that comes with the XXI as standard. Maybe someone else can help you out more.

I could not find it on "search" it is on p 19 at the moment under "having XXI in 1939" There were other threads, I tried it about 3 to 4 months ago and had some correspondence with people who had done it, I did all the file editting, which is a lot, but never got it to work properly and ended up with the game failing to load. I finally gave up.
