Default Rooster tail on sub

Does anyone else have a wake rooster tail spraying up out of the water when traveling at standard or higher speed while on the surface.

I think this is normal but I was wondering if I need to make a height adjustment on the setting.
Looks bizarre but it could be normal. It’s about at the height of the prop guards and there is two, one for each prop.

Every time I try to post direct into the forum box any snagit snapshot with cut and past it comes out as Unicode and not a picture. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. It seems like the forum box is not rich text?
Maybe it’s a size thing? Any tricks?

It's bbCode based, so it uses IMG tags surrounding the link to the file, if you're using an external site. You use the brackets to surround the tags. If you do a quote of a person's post with an image, you'll see what it looks like. If I try to type it, it attempts to insert an image, so just do a quote on this, and you'll see the link to an imgur site image:

Do be careful of your images dpi settings and "size"...

No. Your sub is definitely riding high in the water. You should be down further, closer to the level of the prop guards, like almost covering the tank bulges. I am not sure if the game "models" the weight of a fuel & weapons load (I doubt it), but it looks like all your tanks are dry, no more torpedoes, and Big John fell overboard... you needs some ballast young man!

I heard they eat well aboard. Big John just cant fit through the hatch. He's gotta wait till they open the torpedo loading bay and use a come-along.

I'll adjust the dat or sim to lower the sub a bit.
The cfg already was lowered to say surface draft was 15.2 and the depth meter reflects that, so its definitely the texture painter setting.

I'll play with it and no the game doesnt take into consideration a full load for the way the sub travels. Shame but thats minor.

Interesting ...
The vanilla game has the sub riding at 4.5 meters
The Real environment mod at 5.12 meters
and TMO at 7.62 meters.

WWII Specifications say it has a 14- 16 feet draft.
TMO has the sub sitting 25 feet in the water.

So the choice ... Go for spec draft or go for loaded realism?

When in doubt, go for what "looks" right. Like this:

Wow great pic. I have a question about the radar masts. I'll start anew thread with the pic.

Ok got it right.
Draft at 5.18
Surface running at 5.18
Thats 17 feet. Look just like the above photo.

Interesting find ...
If I change the surface displacement from 1800 to the correct 1514 then it sits right on the surface as well, but if I submerge it never comes back up. Unless I blow emergency ballast. So I think the ballast settings are also incorrect even though I set them the same as the TMO mod.

Oh well, it operates fine at 1800 tons surfaced so, I'll leave that. Seems like the calculations in the game are a bit off.

Some of those "specifications" are "fudged" as well, and that may well be a "as-manufactured" weight prior to gear, fuel and torpedo loading... ??

Make sense that these calculations are based on weird program internals.

Well I have the sub running the way I want. I still think the rear sits a bit high. It always looked to me like subs had a slight low rider rear end. It could be the way the planesmen trimmed out the sub when photographed.
All the stationary docked sub museums like the Pompanito sit level and their ballast bulge sits high.

Any reason why they have a draught (draft) parameter for surfaced and submerged? in the dot.sim file.

Draft is draft, you really dont have a draft at all if you think about it, when submerged. When submerged your draft is your current depth. So why a submerged parameter?
