I wish I had as much disposable income as you folks do. Ahh, some day.

In many parts of this planet (this part included) the words income and disposable are mutually exclusive:rotfl: Hope y'all all have fun

And, StdDev, yup, you pronunciated that correctly

The meeting is a go. More details coming, but the dates and general plan of action is set.

If you need to use the Subsim shuttle, these are the hotels we will be picking up and dropping off at:

Pearland area hotels
Motel 6 - Lowest Price

Howard Johnson - Closest with low price
Hampton Inn Closest, moderate price
Best Western

Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites

Don't pick a motel way off on the north side of Houston unless you are getting your own rental car

Neal, I dont know if I could go. Need a job and all that. The neat thing for me is that my sister lives in Friendswood. And I could stay w/ her, alot cheaper then a hotel.

What would you say about that?

I have all the time already reserved....I was wanting to hitchhike down being the adventerous type but the wife thinks I'm crazy....So I'm thinking I will fly, rent a car,and hotel etc...unless I can find a hot air balloon pilot who wants to float to Texas at that particular time of year....:hmm:

I see on the night of the 11th..is a scheduled sleepover on the sub or DD...I'd like to request now that I be part of that if enough spots are available..if not I can do a hotel just need to now sometime in advance.

OK, got it all set up. Flying in to Hobby (Houston) on Oct. 8 and flying out on
the 13th. Staying at the Motel 6 near the airport. Been exactly 4 years since
the last visit there....

Its an shame that I haven been active in subsims as I used to be. (if anyone remembers...)

I have missed all meetings so far, this one would be an great event. Even noticed McBeck from denmark signed up.

I dont know, It would be fun! But still... to many years has went by.

Did you use to be active in the Wolfpack league? Are you the same Thomas that Torplexed made the sig for?

Yes indeed, the same and slighly heavier only.

(Thomas as an user name here was alreddy taken, I cant remeber if I took that name a long time ago. If I look att the joining date it make sence. But I can't remeber the emailadress I used. Hence the Zorki user name. The join date is the same as sailor steve, so I guess we all created new account here at the same time.

If any admin can enter that account and just look at the email adress, just to make sure who it is. )

Any members who attended the 2004 Texas meeting will have first shot at staying at my place. If we do not fill up, I will open the slots for new attendees.

Unless anyone has strong objections, I will designate the Motel 6 near Hobby airport as the official lodging place for the meeting. This is the least expensive motel, but it's still acceptable (I stay at them frequently). This will allow cash-strapped travelers a nice clean place to stay without costing too much. Edit: it will also allow us to pick up everyone in one stop, instead of going around 5 motels to pick up people.

A room is $40 a night for one person, or you can buddy up with two large beds for $44 a night (which is $22 a person). You will need it for Oct 9 and 10, possibly Oct 12.

After we get closer to the date I will put up a buddy sheet, but you are encouraged to seek out other members you think you may want to split a room with at any time.

cheers
Neal
Currently @ $45:hmm: ~$48
