Default Question regarding the sonar lines

I recently got back into SH4!
Right now i run a campaign wit the FotRSU Mod.
Is there a way to get rid of the map contacts but keeping the sonar lines?

While it does not eliminate the "centered" aspect of the NavMap for where your boat is, you can turn the map contacts on and off in the gameplay options screens of both the Single Mission mode and the Career mode of the game. So in Single Mission, main menu, Options, Gameplay Settings. In my pics below, the Options screen did not "take" for whatever reason, and was a black screen instead, for some reason. Just imagine there is another pic for that...

but once you select the Gameplay Settings, the top choice in the middle column is what you want to select. It usually a cleared check box, so fill it in to turn off map contacts:

As mentioned, this is for the Single Missions, Quick War Patrols, Sub School, and Multi-Player "modes" of the game. The Fleet Boat and German "career" modes have the choice a bit deeper in the menu structure. Once you are in the Captain's Office, click on the wooden radio console on the left portion of the screen for the Options. The highlighted text does not stay "lit" long enough to do a proper screen grab with it, so I drew a "circle" here:

Once you are in the menu, the only thing that changes from above, is the background:

(This is the same basic image missing for the menu to between the two pics above for the Single Mission mode)

While it might seem frustrating that you have to do that for each career you start, it does leave you with options to test things as you go, and not waste a lot of your time, while you decide if you like things or not. You can run any number of careers at a time, so long as you have the hard drive space and bandwidth in the game to keep track of them all...

Just a little follow up question!
When i turn off the map contacts, is it normal that the hydrophone lines are also not longer shown?
Or could it be a possible bug with my rig?
