flightsim: I'm busy with WOTA…
iPad Air: Yes, no reason why not.

Yeah, well, y'see, the thing of it is, what I'm asking is:
will "WOTA: Seehund" take full advantage of and be optimized for the iPad Air's SOTA GPU? It is signiificantly more powerful; on an order of magnitude, actually; than the current one used in the iPhone 5/iPad Mini/iPad 4. In fact, it's safe to say that this current generation of mobile GPUs have performance capabilities approaching those of desktop PCs & game consoles! Or will there be no GPU optimization of any kind? And do you have an idea on what the price for "WOTA: Seehund" will be in the App Store?

It's optimized for PowerVR.
Regarding optimization of the shader code: The new Rogue Series GPU of the A7 handles two things differently, one thing may improve performance and the other change may end in different results of calculations… All other bottlenecks and ways to improve the performance are identical. Quote:
The prices for mobile games are extremely low. Even those games with "higher prices" does not cost more than a pizza or a few beer.

Usually the kids nowadays pump out that amount in SMS every day. It's an fascinating thing that this freemium (f2p, free to play, or how I name it: ****ed to pay) stuff is becoming more and more important. All in all the players pay more overall than for a fixed price game. Well oh well, we have to accept the rules of the market I guess.... |

That's all I wanted to hear ....

so it sounds as if you really are deep into the iPad's graphic capabilities. Isn't Imagination Technologies wonderful? Quote:
When the &@$/! did I even mention price in whatever context?!? When?!? Of course it is! What kind of question is that? But, being said customer, why don't you just let me worry about what's exactly important/not important, 'kay? Now get back to work.

The fact is, that a single developer worked years an such a game. What price is it real worth? Spending all the freetime, investing in tools, books, movies. A lot of time doing DD. And i know that the family is not happy with that kind of work. Sitting hours in front of the pc. Going get angry if something is not work. Developing is pain - but i think it is worth. So how much money would you spent?

How much would I spend?
That's a pretty interesting question you ask there. Just how much would I spend, anyway? Well now, that all depends, doesn't it .... I mean, the bloody game's been delayed & changed around so darn much, I don't exactly know what it is I'll be getting come April 2014. If, in fact, that turns out to be the actual release date. *ahem* Will "WOTA: Seehund" be something along the likes of an "Aces Of The Deep? Or will it, after all of the bluster, sound & fury, end up being a 2 hour throwaway POS like "Silent Hunter HD" in the App Store? If it's a case of the latter, I'd say I'd pay precisely $Zero. If it's, however, a case of the former, why, then, I'd say that I'm prepared to spend .... Oh, I don't know .... Upwards of $9.99, let us say? How's that sound, hmm?

Hmm I don't know iPadCary.
You're right if you said i pay nothing if it is garbage like the SH iPhone Game. But, i think the player decide if he likes the game or not. There are a lot of players out there they like that arcade Silent Hunter game. I never played that. Maybe $9,99 is a good price for a well programmed game. But if only a few people buy it. $9,99 is a desaster. Thats not so easy. I would go in high, because the people who like the game will buy it if it costs $0,50 oder $15. The others will never buy it, because the price is allways to high.

Hey, Einstein: you asked me how much I would pay, not how much he should charge.
Get your facts straight. But let us say you did ask me how much he should end up charging .... I say: free. Yes, you read that right: Icke F-R-E-I sagt. You can only play the first mission, the tutorial, say. This gives you a feel for the overall tone of the game. Then, if you like it, he can have the rest of the game available as an IAP. If "WOTA: Seehund" is as blowaway as it's dev time demands it be, it'll be money in the bank. But, with you being European & all, you're just gonna take the opposite tack no matter what I say, so I don't even know why I'm even wasting my time bothering to craft this well-thought out response to someone who, quite literally, could not care less.

If you want a premium product you should expect to pay a premium price. The same business model that works for lowest common denominator shovelware doesn't necessarily work for something that's very niche like a U-Boat sim.

Unless you're in a third world country, $9.99 cannot be considered a 'premium price' now can it. Battle Academy is, what, $29.99 on iTunes and clearly that hasn't kept it from being a smash hit.
