Default [REL] Periscope Wake Splash for FOTRSU 1.46

I've made additions to the Sensors_Sub_US. dat file found in FOTRSU that make it possible to have a realistic periscope wake with a small water splash effect. This is a purely cosmetic improvement and will not make your periscope any more detectable, either visually or by sensors.
Fully compatible with 1.46 and the latest update from the FOTRSU team.

This work is based on an older mod called "SensorsWakeSplash_PreWar_Midway_Career".

Credit goes to "W_clear" and "The Beast" for the original work on the effects.
I simply made their work compatible for use with FOTRSU

This mod is JSGME ready... or you could manually replace the Sensors_sub_US.dat file found in Library > USSubParts.
Always make a back-up if you wish to go back to the original.

This mod is only compatible with FOTRSU

Hope you enjoy it.
regards,
Canonicus aka "Dave"

The mod is causing CTDs in my FOTRSU 1.46. I don´t know why. Disabling it, the game works fine.

Regards.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I've been using this mod for many months before it was released and had not experienced any problems, so I'm not sure why you would be having CTD's.
The only thing involving FOTRSU 1.46 was a modification to the Sensors_sub_US.dat that added nodes (copied from another mod) that would allow for the generation of the splash effect to become visible in the sim. The Sensors_sub_US.val that is in 1.46, already had the particle generator and the effect particulars set up and ready to go. With the addition of the nodes in the dat file, the effect was now possible.

CTD the same, very strange
I quite understand the mechanism this mod made and try to repeat the work on a orignial .dat file, but fail again....with unknown reason.

Look for ID conflicts, where the "splash" is calling something else maybe with the same ID number, or maybe the same name??

It's all really simple to solve.

I just don't have the time at the moment.

Ahoy, Canonicus...

Want to say, that I was looking forward to trying out your work with the mod, Canonicus... & don't want it being taken as disparaging your hard work & efforts... but, sadly... I must also report that, I too, had a CTD after including it into My mix.

I shall keep an eye out for any word of this being corrected, as I would love to see its inclusion as a mod to further enhance FotRS.

M. M.
