As an hunter-gatherer i have to say Thank You, not only for your excel spreadsheets but also for your Online-Collection.

Greetings.
The hunting involved in SH4 is complicated by its "layers" of campaign files, to where in the RGG (RND) file for SH3, there is only one occurrence of each Group or Unit, while in SH4 there would be six, one for each layer. Each layer is composed of at least 12 mis files, split into different "categories" of ships. Each of the calls might be slightly different, reflecting the passage of time and changing of armaments. Plus the fact that there are 76 different airplanes in FotRSU, as well as nearly 300 ships with the possibility of "loadout" calls, and over 130 campaign files to go through, as well as the SingleMissions, MultiPlayer, and QuickPatrol folders. Just the search itself was enough to drive a person bonkers. Thankfully, s7rikeback was already there...

Well my tools of choice are Notepad+ / Excel / S3D... Then i opened each and every .cfg / .eqp / .dat & mis files, to check the loadout commands for each and every file. record every detail, then cross referenced with forumla's in excel, and with plenty of ctrl+C & ctrl+V presses included...

As to the length of time, it's not just the research, it's then the cross referencing and editing the many files involved to get them to match, then it's the testing time, say 70 Air Models, thats 70 tests I will do, to make sure all works as requested, before it's passed off to a tester in the mod team.

Hebe Vollmaus, my apologies, I have not ever used your tool, I do remember seeing the thread, but I never got round to investigating or testing it.

I will take alook at your tool later today, but I now have another weapon of choice called 010 Editor, I'm slowly learning a few of the functions, andt like your tool, takes mere seconds to search... Compared to my slow ways..

Thanks for the comments regarding the collection.

Yes i forgot the testing-time. And i was not aware that SH4 is that different to SH3, as i do not use it myself. So Thanks to both of you for clarifying.

Greetings.
