i have never experienced a shaking Type iX or any other boat and i tested all boat types for Dark Waters.
when you are in port try this: go to the Gameplay Settings and uncheck the box that says No Stabilize View.
then go back to sea.
that is my only thought at this time.
good luck.

probably a video issue. Match Windows settings to the monitor's native resolution, which Windows will refer to as "(recommended)", then match the game's settings to that. You can also try the "High DPI scaling" settings in the SH4.exe "Properties" page. Then there is the "V-Sync" in the game, in the lower-right of the Graphic Settings page.

Thank you for the help!

Sadly, none of them solved my issue. It seems like these bugs are individual (both the shaking sub thing and the texture bug), I messed up something... My IX D2 is only shaking in the port, only in Lorient, but other subs are working perfectly there. I dont want to waste your times, maybe I try to reinstall the whole sh4, JSGME, and the mod and i hope it helps!

In general I didn't have any other bug or CTD; except for this two.

Thank you again!

Have you emptied the Save folder? "C:\Users \UserName \Documents \SH4", with "UserName" being what you log into Windows with, and Documents might be "My Documents" depending upon your Windows version. Or, the easy way, if you have the Quick Access sidebar open in File Explorer (This PC, etc.), just click on Documents and then find the SH4 folder in there, and delete its contents. This will destroy your career progress thus far, and re-set all of your visuals and other preferences.

Thx for the answer!

Deleted the SH4 documents folder, still no succes.

Type IX-D2 is the only "buggy" submarine, so I can get along with it!

Thanks for the help though!

_rtndrs_,
I have just tested both enviroments, SH4 & Sh4+DW - I cannot reproduce the issue you are having...

Is your sH4+DW install fresh?
What other mods are you running?
Where have you installed SH4+DW ?

Hi, sorry for writing I am using Google Translator. I would like to know if in this MOD the Hydrophonist bug still exists, I mean if there is any limitation when it is not detected contacts by the hydrophone when the boats navigate below certain speeds, and if there is some way of solving when playing. Thank you

Hi Pelucho, i would lie if i say no...
This bug still exist, but seems quite rare though.
Only with ships running very slow <5 knots of what I’ve experienced.

that unintended feature is built into the game by Ubi.
i wouldn't call it a bug because they did it purposefully.

there are a number of situations where the hydrophone will not report ship noises. here is a short list:
  • certain ships at low speeds
  • certain small ships/boats such as fishing boats, trawlers, junks, etc
  • certain sinking-ship-breakup noises
  • depth charges as they are fired and enter the water

there are others...i just cannot think of them at the moment.
have fun.
good luck.

p.s. the crewman manning the Hydrophone/sonar is referred to as the Sonarman or just Sonar.

I reinstalled Sh4 completely. Installed it outside C: (my system partition), installed the mod (only Dark Waters), and the shaking submarine bug was fixed. Sadly the texture issue still occurs in my game.

However am very grateful for the effort you put in to fix my game. As I said IX-D2 the only problematic sub for me, so it's not a very big deal.
At least the weird submarine bug was fixed.

Thanks again!

haven't seen blocky clouds of smoke since Mt. Etna exploded in the first century...when video was 4 color-CGA
clearly there is video continuity issue.
in the Option window for Video, what are your settings?
