Bloody Hell! I take back all the nice things I said about you, also send me the donation I made back as well, ignore the get well soon card too.

Just kidding mate, when I first read you post about you falling I thought it might be an ear infection, I had that once but reading on a bit I see it is a bit more serious.
Anyway it is nice to see you posting again and hope you mend real soon buddy.

Col.

Good to read from you again, Steve. Also a mild comfort that it is from a known ailment. Bones will heal, at least most of the time. (knocks on all the wood he can find in the house, as I have never broken one, well maybe my heart once or twice) I can imagine that balance thing be an annoying deal. Is it that you get dizzy? Or that you legs give way, or something else going on?

I had some periods of wobbly legs for a while a few years ago. Sometimes felt like I could get the rug pulled underneath from me as I was walking. Which never actually happened. Turned out I had a vitamine B12 deficiency, which results in reduced nerve function. And induced some serious anxieties and out of this world beliefs in the upper control room. I'm glad it has not happened again since a couple of monthly injections in the buttocks.

I guess running after the nurses isn't going to be it for a while. But maybe you can impress them with your forum moderation stories and submarine simulation experiences. Take care, indulge in the pampering.

I have to get a B12 jab every 3 months. I missed the last one owing to the covid situation and am now getting the wobbly legs & palpitations which I recognise from before. I don't get it in the arse from nursey, however... just in the upper arm. What am I doing wrong? does she not like me?

This time I landed badly and broke my left shoulder right at the joint, plus a couple of ribs and my skull. I don't know which ribs because they never hurt. The skull fracture had them worried, so a special therapist has been playing logic games with me and giving me cognitive tests, all of which I've passed with flying colors.

My biggest worry is that my apartment manager hasn't had a ground-floor unit open up for me yet, so I have to not only learn how to walk again but how to negotiate the stairs. That's in the future, though. For now I'm lying in a rest-home, unable to even get out of bed without help, while the nurses bring me good food and change my diaper.
I still recall the fall you took down the apt. stairs in the pursuit of Pizza a few years back; and I've spent 30 days with a shattered left hip in hospital traction myself I loved all my nurses: especially the ones with the Demerol! hang tough young man and maintain a wicked sense of humor at all times! PS: I hope it's not your guitar strap shoulder(the seven stringer was too heavy?)...however that might get you unemployment benefits!

Even I was a bit worried, after having read Neal's information.

I'm glad I misread it and you are on the way to the top again.

Dear Lord, If I may address you as such?

I don't offer up advise to one such as you so I'll make a few suggestions on behalf of a Friend.
By Friend I mean someone I met once for a few days in Houston, years ago.
(I hope you don't hold the fact he did not join some of us at the Flying Saucer aganst him!)
He is a very intellegent, and intereseting person, to talk with.
However. Should he fall down steps? I fear that may be a past point NOT in his favor!
So could you help him get a 1st floor apartment?
WITHOUT KILLING SOMEONE PLEASE!
(I'd be mortified to find out a simple prayer to help a Friend resulted in anothers death!)
And if you could? Help him heal fast.
Not the type of fast DeadPool does!
(That would just be wrong on SO many levels!)
And if you could? Get him out of diapers!
(That's not so much for him but for me! The image in my head can never be removed now!)

With much Thanks,
Jeff

PS
Can you remove the diaper image from my head?

Been off the forum for a bit, so I'm just catching up; its good to hear your condition is not as dire as the thread's title intimated; one thing about aging is keeping a sense of equity about what you want to do and what you can do; it is tempting to mull over doing something one used to do with ease just to see if one is still youthful in some respect, but it is often also a good thing to mull over the possible consequences of a failed attempt, especially given the convalescence may not be worth the effort; sometimes discretion is the better part of keeping the flesh and bones whole...

Take good care of yourself and go easy for a while; I hope all goes well for you here on...

...and I second the wish for you to get that first floor apartment...
