From what I can tell, they were run by IJN sailors, under the IJN's direction (for the most part), so technically, they are warships, just in the support column. There is a "Type16=Elite Patrol Craft" and "Type17=Elite Destroyer Escort", of which I know the Type=17 is in use in a few scenarios. I do not recall seeing a Type=16 in use though, so perhaps we could rename it and call it for the Warship Support?? CapnScurvy?? I'll do a "Search" through all the MIS files and see if I can find a Type=16 in use... Otherwise, it's Type=100 for Replenishment and a meatball flag... which might be easier to deal with - "Emulate Stock"...

Edit 1955: OK, neither is currently in use. I'd say the Type=16 is available to use for Type16=Fleet Warship Support Vessel, or whatever, and eliminate the Type=21 experiment...
Yes that was my thinking also, 17 is used by one vessel a DD1936C - which i was thinking of converting to type=4 to match the other variants of DD's?

So we would have two slots free for future use?

I'm not sure of what the purpose of "super" is for a DE, DD or BB. I suppose there might be a 'special ability' for the ship or something, attached to the designation, but I haven't found any 'documentation' for it. A person can use the 'Elite' designation for the crew, but what else that "super" setting brings in, I dunno...

Announcement!
Pay no attention to the title screen saying v0.26. Your fearless leader was sleeping at the switch there and forgot to update it. We now resume our regularly scheduled chaos and disorder.

Three Horsemen of the Apocalypse: Your assignment is to come up with a JSGME compatible mod with all ships and all missions and campaigns. This would contain /Sea, /Roster, /Campaigns, /SingleMissions, MultiMissions, SubSchool and crap I'm forgetting one, but you know where I'm going here. Instead of using JSGME, I'm going to be deleting those directories completely from the mod and manually copying your directories in there. Let's take out the AOTD missions for release as a plugin and leave cdrsubron7's as the official FOTRS Ultimate base mod missions.

You three are in complete, unquestioned control of ships and missions. Then we will pick you to death with complaints. Any questions?

You've already had your "raise"... the Cubbies won the World Series!

So now we dive into the cdrsubron7 Single Mission files and try to break them. Have you found any issues yet cdrsubron7?

Other than tweaking some of the objectives in the missions, nothing yet.

BTW, I want more.

Are you referring to cdrsubron7 or tambor198?

As you requested, boss. It's called The Battle Of New Georgia.

Every time I see a screenie it's immediately obvious that it's FOTRS Ultimate! Talk about branding, this is great.

Report from Navigator857, testing for cancerous spawns:

Quote:
Reporting to the bridge in reference to the assigned tasking from earlier. Starting in January 1, 1944 and running for several hours of patrols south of Tokyo, east of Okinawa and the general areas of the Luzon Straits I never encountered the deathspawn sub hunters. Using TC up to 5k+ and using a patrol grid in that area of about 4nms I encountered several merchant task groups (one was a whaling fleet, that was cool) and several duo groups.

Other than constant air patrols everything ran fine, no stuttering or crashes. Is there a more specific grid I should be looking in for the issues?

P.S. There was an issue I saw in the graphics where there appeared to be a slight artificing on the extreme left and right of the screen but these only showed up when looking back and forth while on the bridge. Wasn't able to screenshot it. Will try again after dinner.

Jack
That's the kind of reporting we're looking for! And I believe the artificing is from extreme memory use of FOTRS Ultimate. We're right up against the upper limit. That's why our last restructuring was working toward lower memory use and faster loading. S7rikeback hit that one out of the park. I'm not believing how quickly the Museum loads now.

Three Horsemen of the Apocalypse: any refinements to Navigator's search patterns that might help induce the cancerous spawns?

Yes, excellent report Navigator857. "No" to RR. The only common denominator we've found thus far for the run-away spawning has been the use of TC, and it's very much next to impossible to play the game without it. It might not even be a factor. You're right in the area Navigator857, where most of the incidents have been. Near Tokyo Bay is another high-rate area. One thing to keep in mind is that they have happened all over the map, where ever a Randomly Generated Group might be spawned. This might very well be happening along the California coast with US DD vessels, but the game isn't played there much So there aren't any witnesses... Where the ships are is where we've seen the incidents, so go where there's the most ships.

As for the graphics anomoly on the edges of your screen, do you have your display set the same as the "Native" setting of your LCD monitor? Does the Refresh Rate match also? Do you have the game set to the same? If you don't have the settings available in the game, you could experiment and try a setting with the "Windowed" in the game's settings checked, and see how it does.

Edit: One thing you gotta remember 'bout those screenies Rockin Robbins, is the skill of the capturer...

One thing to remember about these mass spawning's of DDs is that they occur only occasionally, but often enough to be a problem. They occur maybe 1 out of 10 times so the areas where they occur need to be hit many times. I've go a few ideas I want to try but it probably won't happen till the weekend.

I will try some more around Tokyo Bay this afternoon then work my way around to the south again. As for the screen settings it was set on Full Screen with a native resolution of 1920x1080 59hz. I'll try the window'd settings and see how that does.
