Default How to do Lifeguard Mission

So I got assigned a lifeguard mission for the first time. Judging from the timing on this one, I suspect they occur during times of major battles as this mission popped up just a week before when the Guadalcanal Campaign kicked off and the marker is set inside of "The Slot", right where you'd expect airmen participating in the campaign would be likely to go down. So if you get one, check the date and cross reference it with major battles and see if the dates align similarly.

As for how it works, I'm just going off what I've seen but it seems like is you go to the marker and just patrol around until you get markers for "Survivor" on the map. They seem to be preceded by radar contacts of aircraft, both friendly and enemy, which makes sense. Obviously, this will only happen during the day. Then you mark your course to intercept the survivor marker. Now the next part is important. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go above 4x time compression. For whatever reason, if you do, the "current" will drag the survivor away FAR faster than you can possibly go (like I'm talking an easy 100 knots or more kinda faster). If you don't, the survivor more or less doesn't move (depends on the distance). Best approach I've found is to mark the course, head to the tower, and stare directly ahead while on 4x TC. After so much time, you'll get large masses of survivors that you can string together on a set a course to zigzag to. You'll see the red smoke from the survivor, which should be more or less directly in front of you (assuming you set a direct course). Once you get close enough, which seems to be 500 yards-ish, move your binos around the red smoke until the crosshairs turn red. When they do, a button on the "Bridge" tab will become clickable. Click it and you'll get the message "Survivors rescued". It can be tricky so best to do at 1x TC. It's also best to do this during calm seas, even if that means having to sit in place, diving to avoid aircraft.

And that's it. I can't speak to how you get it completed. I picked up easily 7-9 men and it didn't complete for me and I don't have the patience to carry it out to the end. Still, I figured this would help someone some day. Some of the best help I've gotten was from threads posted here before I was even in high school (I'm 26 now) so even if it takes a decade, hopefully this helps someone.

mission completion depends on the parameters set within the mission objectives.
can you reply with some details of the mission? an excellent reply would be the mission ID number from your career file at the time of that mission. with that i can look directly at the mission's objective and tell you how many survivors you needed to rescue to complete the objective.

one other ask: can you include your current JSGME config? (Tasks-Export activated mods to-Clipboard and then ctrl+v it here in your reply-post).

Most of the Stock game's "Lifeguard" missions are set to a value of 10 pickups, with 30 survivors in the water, and a continuous stream of airplanes in the area.
