Hi there!
I have a quastion for this mod: NewUIs_TDC_7_4_2_ByTheDarkWraith. There are some options and descriptions in this forum for the snorkel function, but my VII A doesnt have a snorkel. All other functions of the mod are working.
Maybe I just have to wait and unlock the snorkel in the in the bunker?
Is the snorkel only available for the VII C, like in the real history?

Thank you for your reply!

If 'Developing' needs to be changed for TDW's NewUI.

Does Automation Debugging Enabled need to be changed also in TDW's OFEV from False to True?

Hi robmoore

You can do this through Options on the main SH5 menu and going to Game Play and un-ticking manual torpedo.

You can also make a bigger range of selections in TDW's Options File Editor Viewer.

Two questions.

1. I've lost my Ships-of-all-Nations book. I had a CTD while playing some tutorials; when I reloaded, I got a black-screen "Camera out of sector" error that I fixed by going to the External Cam and back to the player avatar, but ever since my SOAN is gone. I've tried enabling and disabling charts. I've tried checking through all of my chart menu ticks to make sure I didn't disable it. I've pressed every button on my keyboard thinking I accidentally hid it by sausage-fingerdly mashing an obscure hotkey. I've started a new campaign. Nothing. Not having access to its catalog of true ship measurements makes targeting with the RAOBF ruler impossible.

Does anyone know how to re-enable it, short of reinstalling the mod (or game)?

2. Is there any way to re-enable Weps' ability to automatically ID ships? It may be realistic to count stacks and structures and spend lots of time comparing distorted 'scope views to a manual of ship listings, but I find it to be a drag; I'd rather my crew do it so I can get to the math work of working a solution.

Edit- Blimey. Posted this in the wrong mod thread; I'm using Wolves of Steel. I'll post it there as well, but it could also still be a UI issue. If anyone in this thread knows about these, please, do tell.

Using Version 7.5.0 test 18 along with all of Sobers mods. I cannot switch clock interface to U-Jagd by right clicking, was this feature removed or does one of Sobers mods interfere with it?

Thanks Peter good info as ever, however I checked and appear to have installed the UI correctly.
I have the following installed in this order

The only UI mod I have installed is the main mod 3 folder from TDW and the desire I have is to turn some of the features off. does this mod by default use SH5 layout or is there a means to select it.

Hi robmoore

You only need the torpedo fix mod if you have given bonus points to your torpedo man.

This because when he has bonus points it for a better word 'corrupts' your torpedo solutions so you get misses instead of hits.

Would you kindly be a bit more precise in what you mean by turning the features off?

What features are you referring to?

Is there a specific reason why you are using the Lite mod?

The feature you're looking for can be found in the sh folder, go to data/applications/optionsfileviewereditor.

Find the tdw file viewer editor and you can select certain options on and off. Including which UI you want to use. What you should be looking for should be somewhere in there.

Hi robmoore

Tdw’s Options File Editor Viewer is where you will be able to customise most of the settings you are looking for.

As far as the compass goes I am assuming you are using the ‘Enhanced UI’ with the compass bar at the bottom.

If you click the small round button this will close it completely.

The other consideration is to change the UI in the OFEV.

There are 3 versions available.

SH3 style

SH4 style

SH5 enhanced which is the default version.

In the periscope station the dials button will also allow you to make changes as well as in the OFEV.

There is an icon on the right side that shows your messages.

If you look at the bottom there is a button and if you press that you can then un-tick the boxes that you want.

There is a message box tab in the OFEV where your message box hides when moused out and shows when moused in.

You can turn off ‘item notes’ in the OFEV.

The ships journal will only show if you select the icon on the right side.

You should not see the attack disc unless you are pressing the relevant button.

As far as 1945 you should use OH II v2.5 mod as this is a far superior mod to the litemod.

The biggest problem with the lite mod is in the name lite.

This is basically the stock game with reduced tonnages to complete the objectives.

You will finish your objectives a lot quicker and then you are hanging around for a long time waiting for the date to come up so you can start the next mission.
