hey, can you go to your Control Panel-Programs and tell me which C++ libraries you have installed? maybe you can support me better than Ubi.
it will look like this:

i appreciate it.

if you feel self-conscious about it, PM me.

you are correct. visual studio will install more libraries than the fully available redistributable C++ libraries that come with a MS OS. my system actually has a few more libraries going out to 2017, i believe. i just clipped the display to give Fifi an idea of what i was looking for.

and i have been using the hell out of my C++ libraries. or not.

Ubi support re-instated me on their support website. we are still troubleshooting. system config. C++ libraries. windows error logs. today i had to run a system corruption tool. i was clean. hell, i could have told them that.

i performed the Mod Soup Process. Cleaned out the system files in the save folder. deleted my old savefiles. re-applied Opm with Fifi's update 8. i even left off my Beloved Clock Fix which S7rikeback created for me.

i created a new 2D out of Kiel playing the Baltic career. i am in the middle of a torpedo attack and bang. CTD. which is NOT the same as the previous one which was at reload in-port....but still, come on, now.

i need a break. i think i am going to put this all aside. de-install all of my SH4 installs. maybe go back and play 688i or Sub Command or even Seawolf. no CTD's with those apps but then Ubi is not involved.

Those random CTDs are very nasty to track down
Not to say impossible...but saving regularly can avoid too much frustration
I rarely got CTD, but sometimes it happens to me too. And last time was yesterday! Switching to external camera and bang. Go figure...

exactly.
coupled with the re-load-game-CTD....playing is no longer fun. it's like work.
well.....when playing becomes work, it's time for something else.
fifi, buddy, this is not meant to be anything negative on you. i think you have resurrected the OpM mega to new heights (or is it depths). but my particular environment has never done well with OpM, even the Fifi-version. so, i am going to take a break from SH4. if something comes up that you want to me to take a look at, send a PM and i'll get an email. au revoir, for now.
good luck. and good hunting.

p.s. after 4 weeks of contact with Ubi support regarding the MSVCR71.dll issue, they closed the case and recommended that i open a ticket with Microsoft support. talk about looking up a dead horse's a$$.

Available from 1942/01/01 for all U-Boats except the IIB...

Ok, will send you new file. It was a stupid bad node position, the one who calls the emblem.

And other good news, our friend S7rikeback discovered why the U24IIB wasn’t showing up! An bad inversion of IIB in BII in the emblem file

Now just the U9 IIB emblem that still don’t show up...this one is a mystery!

Just in case you did not see it for yourself, the waterstreams on type VIIB are continuing "streaming" under water.
I did not try out other u-boats.
Again, there is no rush to fix this, it's only visible with external camera under water.

Thank you for your hard work.
Ok, finally decided to fix all those water streams ...
VIIB and C are already definitely fixed
Looking for others.

To be fair I’m not sure what the problem was, no matter what I did, the Emblem would not show up using its own node. But as soon I linked it to U8’s node it worked straight away.

So I pulled one of the fully working emblem dat files and then copied everything across. Removed the un-needed old nodes, renamed the file, new ID and the rest is history.

So i’m guessing the original dat had errors, that S3d could not see...

Wow...that was weird indeed!

Could you send me the new emblem file with the fix please?

For those playing careers, any news about the Weather Change Mod?
Any weather change improved?

On my side, the weather is changing around each 2 days, sometimes more often, sometimes less often
No more weather stuck for 5/6 days for sure...
Sometimes it’s only clouds change, sometimes only waves and wind speed, sometimes only fog, and sometimes a mix of all.
