Don't get too carried away with rust. I'd keel haul the crew if they let my tub get rusty.

That's why every sub will eventuely have 3 different skins. Black, minor and heavy weathered. |

I just started the Porpoise.. (well.. I been busy with her for about 4 hours now :p )
It's just basic, very few details etc.. Does anybody has a shot of a grey colored Porpoise ?? I am a bit in doubt with the colorscheme.. Should it be like this, or grey all the way to the rear (like USS Salmon) ? |

USS. Permit (SS 178) Taken early 1944, and appears to be painted in midwar Measure 10 overall ocean grey. (US Navy via SFL) USS Porpoise (SS 172) "Surface view "Bow". Navy Yard. Phila, PA. July 20 1944." Painted in early war Measure 9 overall black. Last edited by Hackett; 07-30-07 at 07:29 PM. |

Great work Foo!
One request(don't laugh guys). How about an "Operation Pettycoat" skin. Just for an oldtimer that loved the movie. I'd love to use it on a rescue or recon mission just for the hell of it. LOL

@ Hackett.. thanks for the shots
Why is USS Permit on Navsource called Perch class and on several other sites as Porpoise class ? anyone ? @ GT182.. maybe, I think it is very cool looking skin. At the moment I still have tons of work. But maybe later. The idea sounds good ! |

The information I have simply has the "P Boats" sub-headed under the parent class of "Porpoise Class" The Porpoise-class was made up of the following subclasses: P-1 Type

The third flight of porpoise subs had some minor mods, and some people insist on them being a seperate class, using the pike as a name for it since it was the first of the three flight to put to sea.

Wow...awesome.
I know your busy, but any chance on the weathered/before overhaul 'Drum' Skin? Adding of the battleflag on conning tower would be great too.
